World of Warcraft Expansion Announced

No surprise here.  Blizzcon came up and everyone knew ahead of time that the theme was Warcraft, so who couldn't predict an expansion.  It's called "The Burning Crusade."  Level cap increased from 60 to 70, two new character classes, new areas, etc.  More info here:

Does anyone here play  WoW? It looks really good. I finally have a PC that will play it. So I was thinking about getting it. How much is it a month to play?

OK I just saw that is cost 14.99 a month to play WoW. I won't be play it. $15 a month is a damn  joke.

The Evil Leon plays it more often than he sleeps.  The screenshot of a troll named JackThompson yelling "Doug Lowenstein is Hitler!" in the Jack Thompson thread was his.  It is a real character he made on WoW.  I think Hydrobond still plays WoW as well, and I know several people outside of this site who play the game far too much.  What about Sureshot?  Didn't he move to France because he got a job involving WoW?  Or was that another MMORPG?  I think he did play the game though.

For $14.99 a month the game should be free or $9.99 then the fees. But to spend $49.99 on a game then $14.99 a month to play it is robbery.

I did for about a month, but then canceled my subscription until I get DSL up here.  I use to have to take my computer to my older brother's house and mooch off his Cable connection to play.

The expansion is going to completely f**k up the dynamics of the game.  There is all this gear that is meant to be extremely rare that you can only get when you hit 60, the highest level in the game.  The expansion is going to increase the max level to 70 (rumor says 75, even on Wikipedia) making all that gear pretty worthless and completely voinding any reason to strive to get said gear.  

If you ever become interested in playing WoW, everyone I know is on the Lightning's Blade server.  It's one of the original servers but never got too crowded. Oh, and roll a priest they are sorely needed. Don't waste time on the Alliance, go Horde.

As far as MMORPGs go, WoW is far and away the best one to ever be released.  It's the first one that I've played that isn't bugged.  It truely is a great game, especially if you are into MMORPGs.

Yeah, I'm still a GM for WoW EU. I don't play too much any more, but the expansion has whetted my appetite somewhat.

Adding another race is neat, but why Blood Elves?  They look just like the existing elves in the game.

Except that elves are purple and the blood elves are white.

And actually they are adding two more races, one per side, blood elves and the drenai.

Yeah, but at the end of Warcraft 3 wasn't there only something like 100 blood elves left.  I believe that's why they stopped calling themselves high elves and took up the name blood elf.
