You need a TV tuner/capture card.  Find them here: http://www.newegg.com/Pro...tegory.asp?SubCategory=47

And yes, they will also do stills.  You can take screenshots of video games with them, though to be honest it usually isn't perfect quality.

Pfff, I don't even have 60 gb of porn, so it's less than 30% of my hard disc space.

Well for starters I have my entire CD collection ripped to my PC as MP3's or OGG's, including over a year's worth of MP3's I purchased online from eMusic, totalling about 53 GB.  Then there are web site backups, video files I've recorded from TV, and lots of other stuff.  Sorry, Den, no porn.

Why do you have all your CD's on your PC? Why not save space and use a home stereo?

I do the same thing, and it's mainly out of laziness.  I'm sitting at my computer most of the time anyway, so rather than having to get up and switch CDs if I want to listen to a different band or something, I just have playlists of all my CDs in iTunes.  Plus, it's much easier to make compilations/playlists if all of my music is already on my computer.

I can see that but if it comes down to space issues on your PC why not delete the MP3's you have on CD.

I've used up 34.59 of the 37.22 GB on my hard drive, 11.2 GB of which is downloaded/ripped music in my iTunes folder.  Although I'm getting pretty close on space, the My Documents folder on my computer is 26.2 GB.  I'm probably going to get an 80 or so GB external hard drive to put that folder in, since all of the files I actually want from my computer are there.  That should solve my space problem, and I get to keep all my music on my computer.  Plus, if my computer gets fried, I'll still have all of the stuff I need. |D

Too bad I'm broke... :-/

I have even less than that.  Mine's only about 500 megs.

He's right.  I have a 120 GB drive, a 160 GB, and a 200 GB, for a total of 480 GB...  and I think they are all about full.  Without my DVD burner I'd need a few terrabytes.

Yea i will fill this 120 gig soon enough but i would rather wait and buy a larger drive when i need it.
I am already dreading when i finally rotate out my 40 gig. I just hate having to reinstall windows. Lazy mostly.

My 120 gig i m using specifically for games and videogame related things..
I have 22.2 gigs use as of now. I use to have closer to 50 but deleted them all when i got my new harddrive.
I have another 7ish gigs on a harddrive somewhere. Supposedly all of the Neo Geo CD isos.

Use a 40 gig for my main drive which is also for music music
Use a 20 gig for RFGen stuff and things i put online elsewhere

Why so much? Why not just "rotate stock".

I do the same thing. I use to have a stereo but it took up to much space in my room. So i would rather save space and money by leaving them all digital.
Though i did burn a few and put the ones i bought in my car but haven't listned to them much.. at all.

CFB was very right.  It comes down to convenience.  I use WinAmp, but the idea is essentially the same.  Also, my PC is hooked up to my receiver and therefor my surround sound speakers, so in a way I am using a home stereo, except that it's a lot more versatile than just a CD player.

So do I.  I also still buy cassettes, which I have recorded to my PC as WAV's, split into tracks, cleaned up the audio with audio editing software, and converted to MP3's or OGG's.  Now I can flip to any song on my cassettes as if they were CD's, and they sound better too.  Eventually I'll start doing that with my vinyl as well.
