With the MSU-UM game coming up tomorrow, it seems that there's been an abundance of "smack-offs" lately on sports radio. So much so, that whenever  it comes up, I change the channel. It was so bad, I even ended up on NPR the other day.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that "smack-offs" are the most boring thing that they can put on radio?

I won't even listen to sports radio during football season. I like to hear them rip the Lions I just can't stand all the college talk though.

Jim Rome... UGH! he get's some great interviews that are interesting. I hate the clones. his show is unlistenable when the listeners are calling in.

They were winning for a lot of the game, but USC came back and won.  It was a very close game.

Rome is not so bad. The recent shows where they were interviewing the parent of the autistic boy who busted out for 20 were very emotional and great. Even the callers were respectful and had some very good calls.

Jim Rome is starting to grate on my last nerve.  There is so much dead air on that show sometimes I check my radio to make sure that it's working properly.

Jim Rome:  "Kevin Harvick is a class act................He's a great guy..............Kevin Harvick is one of the nicest guys you can talk to...................Kevin Harvick is great to talk to................He's a nice guy..........etc."

How many times can he tell us the same thing in a slightly different way?  By the way, that line would have eaten up a good 15 minutes of his show time.

And yet he's making millions, and we're going to pawn shops, flea markets, and thrift stores...
