Good for you and photography.  Do you do much shooting now?

Uhm, not a whole lot right now. Mostly because I can't afford to buy film and then get it developed too. Also I hate sending film in to labs. Printing it myself is much better. I'm dying to go shooting, though. Preferably in the city with lots of people. Or out in the woods with zip people. Probably which ever presents itself first.

Photography is fun, but I don't plan on getting into it professionally, but it makes a fun hobby.

That's exactly how I was for a long time for the same exact reasons.  Being a poor college student, I just don't have the dough to get it properly developed.  The places that are cheap enough of course aren't going to give me good enough quality to justify saving the money.  Most people do not understand this, but development is just as important to photography as is composition and proper exposure.  One-hour developing at Walgreens is CRAP.  I don't care how cheap it is.  I will never take my film there.

The only reason I get to shoot at all right now is because my dad bought a 5 megapixel digital camera.  For a long, long time I avoided digital because the quality just plain sucked compared to film.  5 megapixels isn't by any means film quality, but it's good enough to print at about 8x10.  I'm not going to be having any of my stuff printed on billboards anytime soon anyway, so this digital camera is good enough.  I can print at sizes big enough for me, and most importantly, I don't have to pay a dime for film or developing.

There are some things about film that I have missed lately, but right now money is tight so this will have to do to feed my addiction.

I get to work tomorrow and Sunday. I want to work because i make good money and i enjoy working with my Dad but i also don't want to work because i have not been out to any of my usual hunting grounds in over 2 months. I am going to work but i am starting to get really dissapointed about not being able to get any new stuff that i really want. Not that the minor finds i have been getting are a complete let down.

Right now the only reason that I get the chance to shoot and develop anything is because I get my film, paper, and use the dark room at the school.  I do however have my own camera.

Man, I wish I had my own camera. :/ I'm supposed to be saving up for a digital SLR, but that's hard to do without a job that has a decent income (I get 20ish dollars a week). I've gota digital point and shoot, but it's got to be the crappiest of the crappy and on top of that my computer won't read it for whatever reason. -falls off a cliff-

Wait a few years and you can get a state of the art digital camera for 2 nickels. My dad bought ours less than 2 years ago for over 400 euro's and a camera with similair posibilities won't cost more than 200 euros today.

I'm hoping that a year from now the price will have dropped as significantly as that; I'm going to be switching to an art school to study photography full-time and I'll have to have a digital slr or I won't be able to do any of my assignments or whatever.

I'd like to point out now that I have had way too much cake in the past week. I had cake earlier this week from albertson's, and then I had birthday cake last night and then again today. Goddamn, does anyone want some of this?

How would you get cake from an abortion?

Nope, never heard of it.  All we have in Cincinnati are Kroeger, bigg's, IGA, and....  I think that's it, right guys?  We had Thriftway until about a month or two ago, but they went out of business.  Oh, we also have Meijer.  That's about it I think.  When I was up in Flint, there were a few different ones like Farmer Jacks.  They didn't have bigg's, and I don't remember seeing Thriftway or IGA.  No Albertson's there that I remember either.
