Whats with all the Santa haters?
I love xmas. Evener when i get shitty presents. I get to see some family members i don't see that much and everyone is pretty off the wall.
I don't know how this xmas will be. My dad has a new girlfriend and she has kids so i think things are going to get all fucked up over there. We used to stay at my dads open our presents he got us there give him some of his stuff. Then go to our grammas eat dinner and open the presents she got us give dad the rest of his stuff and pass out grandparents gifts. But those kids will probably come too and they just kinda fuck up everything that we used to do.

Family members are the worst. Christmas is the only time when you can't avoid them.

I like Christmas.  I get along better with 95% of my extended family than I do with my immediate family, so it's fun to see them and have lots of parties and stuff.  There are one or two people on my mom's side that I'd rather not see, but a lot of the time they don't show up at any family gatherings anyway since they hate everything.

I try to avoid my dad's side of the family.  They get drunk and have axe and knife throwing contests.

So they shop at the hard liquor/chainsaw shop you're saying?

I don't personally know anyone from my dads side of the family except his parents. I know i am related to a guy who is on a local new station and a guy who owns an autobody shop, guy who lives on the westcoast now who trains Clydsdales and a few others(probably more than i even know). But i have never met or even spoken to any of them as far back as i can remember.

Well, my dad's side of the family is very large...yeah they do.  The only one on his side that actually did anything with his life was my great grandfather, or uncle (don't remember which) Cal Niday raced in the Indy 500 in the 1950's and took 10th (I don't know if that was his actual place).

My dad's side came from Germany.  Their original last name was Von Nida.

my grandfathers last name was Von Lemon before WW2.
I was told by a European  histoiry teacher than the Von part was a sign of royalty. I think that might have been in the Prussia area.

I think my great great grandparents left Germany in just before WW1, now I'm going to have to check that out.
