Ideas for Game art printing tools?

Hi all, I Go as the Fakecollector as im doing my own spin on collecting, So im looking to make my own box art and stuff for my own cases.

Im wondering what sort of printer would i want to get, To print good quality labels and box art and is there a specific DPI That say Modern games art sleeves come at? I dont want to go overboard on print resolution, I take it ill be using photo paper for most of my creations.

And i doubt ill do anything larger than the odd DVD style cover, If anything i want to keep the prints small, Like the JP Gamecube case style, Yet my cases are gonna be different for different systems, Small and space saving though

When I scan my games for printing I go for no less than 600 dpi.  As for a printer, find a good laser photo printer.  A lot of one color is present on most box art so if you do use a ink printer make sure you can test it first.

However you do it, make it obvious that it's a reprint even if all you do is a fine print "reproduction" somewhere on it. Nothing worse than reprints that are almost impossible to tell apart from the original without looking for ridiculous details.
