Wolverine is actually much harder than I thought, but only because of the annoying way you take damage and the one continue you are allowed. After two hours I can reliably get to level eight, but hitting a wall because of the spiked floors and the very precise jumping (and stupid electric floors). This is a game for the console, as even the slight lag with my emulator makes some of the jumps tough.
Lol, is that how you do it? I got to him and punched him for ten minutes without killing him. That's hilarious. I was thinking that it was because I didn't have enough energy to use my claws, but nope! Well, once I get home I will try again.
I got to the end battle with Sabretooth and couldn't complete it. So frustrating. You have to perfectly time punches to juggle him across multiple screens until he goes over the cliff edge.

Wow, you guys are killing it! I started playing The Mafat Conspiracy tonight (for the first time) and wow what a downgrade from the original. The music is annoying as heck and the whole style and graphics are way different. Not sure I’m going to like this one. And Crabby, unlike our friend, Chris, my name is not related to Golgo 13. I’ve had that nickname since childhood. It’s a derivative of my last name.

I thought I’d try and do a quick one to up the numbers, Rescue the Embassy Mission

I’m not sure what’s being counted as completion for that one though. That’s just one of 5 “missions” completed. But even according to the manual the difference between the missions is just the difficulty

@Duke0619 - that's unfortunately about Mafat Conspiracy. I havn't played that one myself so I was hopefully it was at least as interesting as Golgo 13.
@Schlibby - thanks man! Greatly appreciated! You just have to do the Jupiter Mission for Rescue for it to count. That's the only requirement for Rescue I don't think difficulty makes a difference.
I finished off Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves tonight. Such a bizzare game. Also started playing Power Punch II tonight. Was able to finish the first circuit, but the second circuit is beating me down pretty good. Cant get the first two guys down somewhat consistently now so I just gotta figure out the last 2. Hopefully next session I can finish it up.

Ahhh, I did the middle mission of the 5 I think it was. I'll see if I can crack the 5th mission. But don't put me down for reserved. Don't mind if someone else swoops in on it

Finished another game with a lame "Game Over" screen at the end. But since the "almost" end screen of Wolverine looks eerily similar to Crabby's...

Thanks for the hot tip about Wolverine, Crabby; you basically avoid everyone that you can (though on level 8 you can't) and run to the goal. Once you memorize the levels and enemy appearances it really isn't all that tough - until you get to the last boss. I don't know how long I would have punched Sabertooth trying to kill him without Shane's comment. Even then, old 'Tooth doesn't want to die, so he hops around the screen like a jackrabbit. I don't know how many times I had to continue and restart, but I did it.
I think I will try
Legend of Kage
(I always used to pronounce it, Cage). In one of the early Nintendo Power issues (I think) they mistakingly put "Zelda II" underneath a pic of Kage, but still I never played it. I think it is something like Demon Sword, but I am not sure. Regardless, I am battling sickness and need to take a nap or something, lol.

Legend of Kage is an incredible arcade game! I dumped a lot of quarters into that as a kid. It is more of a hack and slash. Fun game!

Casino Kid 2
is done.
It's a unique game, but a few elements hold it back. The blackjack tables are extremely tedious, and I think the worst part is it doesn't feel random, it feels more like a test of being able to correctly guess when the game wants you to hit and when to stay. At the poker tables, it sucks that there is no option to "check" (bet, raise, and fold are your only options). That said, the poker was modestly enjoyable, it just would've been much better with the option to check. The roulette is a mixed bag, as it's more about trying to read the table talk of your opponent than to take your chances on the random numbers.
I also am working on a lengthy blog entry about another game I recently completed, and will have a post soon with end screen pix.

Ninja Gaiden III
complete.
Wow, what an experience. It's a misunderstood game, in that you have to approach it like a puzzle platformer. But once you start getting good at it, it becomes a fantastic, fluid playthrough with subtley near-flawless game design.
Check out my full thoughts here-

I think I'll try
The Immortal
next, but who knows if I'll have the patience for it.

Finished Legend of Kage. As you can see I almost didn't get the screenshot (I thought it would stop crawling but it didn't). I never played it in the arcade, but after watching some videos it does appear somewhat faithful (given the limitations of the NES). The game is actually pretty fun. You have to "beat" the games five stages three times, with each stage appearing with a different color scheme with each playthrough, until you beat the actual final boss. Then the game begins looping forever. Not too bad, and someone who knows how can probably beat the game in about ten or fifteen minutes. It took me about two hours of trying. I was originally going to make a post making up a story about a kabuki performer needed saving by a ninja who left the village without his pants, but... no. I seriously need some rest.
Next will be
Demon Sword
I think, since it reminds me of Kage (with its jumping mechanics).

Beat a game of
Archon
. It's more fun than Battle Chess on NES. At the start, it looks like you're setting up a chess board with pieces named differently, but they move like Fire Emblem characters. Each type moves a different distance, some can move over other characters while some have to move around. Encountering an enemy piece puts you in a 1 on 1 arena view where you can eliminate your opponent whether or not you were the one moving into combat. Beyond that, it's a bit like capture the flag in that you have to have one piece on each of the pulsing squares to win. I took a flying piece straight over to kill the sorceress, as she was generating new pieces. After that, it was simply a matter of moving archers in to empty spots.

Zombie Nation
complete. I played through this a few times when I was a kid, so I was trying to save this for someone that loves shooters and hadn't played this yet. Given we're short on games and time this month, I was going to bang out as many as I could today. I'm not normally a fan of shooters, since a lot of times you have to really know the subweapons and their progression to get through them. This one, however, simply levels you up as you progress to have more projectiles. Speed is constant, and energy can be replenished at a reasonable enough rate where you can slip up a good number of times in a level and still be ok.

Chubby Cherub
completed. I fell down into the dog pit the first attempt, and I've never been able to get back out of those. The game loops, so once you're on 13 you've cleared every stage.
