Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project done.

Another old game from my childhood, but unlike most of the others, I have actually beaten this one before. I like TMNT II quite a bit more, but this one is still a lot of fun.

Got through Blaster Master tonight! Didn’t quite blaze through it like I thought I would, but I persevered regardless. The 7th boss is absolutely brutal but I was able to curb stomp the final boss, go figure.

I now claim Tiny Toon Adventures as my next victim.

Well done everybody!! Lots of different genres being taken down lately, which is awesome to see!! I'm gonna be back to my Bases Loaded 4 grind tonight.

Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse done.

So I finally bit the bullet and tackled Castlevania III. Not the first time I've beaten the NA version, but I generally opt for the Famicom version when I can due to the enhanced soundtrack and less ridiculous difficulty. As a huge fan of the series, I certainly do enjoy this game, but I prefer the first game over this one, although I appreciate how innovative this entry was for its multiple paths and characters.

Jaws is down. Had this one when I was a kid and could never beat it. It's super easy once you know how everything works. The trickiest part is at the end when you have to impale Jaws with the ship's bowsprit and if you mess up you have to deplete Jaw's entire health bar again. Having the main antagonist stalk you and able to ambush you reminded me a lot of Friday the 13th. I must be getting old because my thumbs were a little sore after jamming on the shoot button too much. Tongue

I'm going to relinquish my claim on Tiny Toon Adventures, I've tried playing through it a couple of times and good god it's way too brutal for me!

In exchange I'm going to tackle Gradius which I could beat in my sleep.

Batman done.

I never played this game until recently when I played through it with a friend on an emulator with liberal use of save states. It's a fun game, and it's nice to go back and finish it legitimately. The final boss fight against the Joker is brutal, but it's manageable if you can figure out precisely how to do it.

31 out of 74 games down in Bases Loaded 4 now. This is quite possibly the least amount of fun I've ever had with an NES game, very frustrating with how often I need to restart and how slow the progress has been. Part of me wants to take a break, but another part just wants to get it done and over with.

Got myself up to 40 games out of 74 now, one of my better nights in terms of games won. I seem to be getting better at shutting down my opponent from being able to score. If I could myself score a point consistently this would go a lot smoother. I've had multiple games run to the 18th inning and end in a tie (which is a reset for me), or I just make an error very late into the game and have wasted 30-40 minutes of my life.

Do you have to win every game Crabby, or can you just have a good enough record to win the World Series or other form of finishing the game?

Throwing it out there: Not claiming it, because if there's someone who wants a chance to experience it, I want them to get a chance. That said, I am making progress on Ninja Gaiden III. I love this series, and have beaten the 1st two, and played through the third on SNES NG Trilogy. Never have beaten NES version of NG III.

At the same time, while difficult, the NES Ninja Gaidens are some of the best games on the system, and if someone is out there who hasn't played them and doesn't mind a challenge, go for it.

Just beat it amigo!  We only have two more days until the month is half over and we are 18 games away from half of our February goal of reaching the 250 mark. Let's see if we can make a push. Smiley

@singlebanana - I can't actually find any info on that. And because of that I'm playing it quite safe. If I get to the world series and was short some games and had to restart there is no way I'd go through another season. So I may be making it harder on myself, but I just don't know. Maybe when I get to like 60 wins I'll just slam through a few win or lose and see what happens though.

@EZ Racer - Go for it! I love the Ninja Gaiden games and I think III is easily the hardest of the trilogy. There are a couple stage near the end that are just brutal and without having the infinite continues of the first game it's a big challenge.

Desert Commander done. The ending sequence for all 5 missions is exactly the same, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Being a strategy game from 1988, it is fairly quirky and primitive, and the AI isn't too great either. I enjoyed it though, and I would say that it's a good early attempt at this genre. Probably not something I would ever play again since these types of games have come a long way over the years, but it's cool to finally finish this game after all this time.

Edit: I'm going to throw my next claim down on Crystalis. I've actually been playing it a bit here and there over the last few weeks, so I'll go ahead and make it official.
