So I went to a thrift store today and bought this copy of NHLPA Hockey '93 and I was hoping that somebody could tell me something about the sticker that is on the lower left hand corner.  It says EASN Limited Edition 1st round H09096.  Does anybody know anything about this?

Here's a close up of the sticker.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have wondered about this myself a lot since quite a few of my EA sports games have similar stickers.  I know for a fact that some of my NHL and Madden EA games have these stickers, and some of the NBA games might as well (though I don't remember offhand).  I can't really tell you much about them except the obvious assumption from the text of the sticker.....  I kinda doubt they increase the value of the game at all.

Yeah, I kind of doubt that they increase the value any.  It looks like they released over 10,000 of these "limited editions" per game so they don't appear too limited.

i have a few of these too! Smiley i noticed the stickers before, but never seen any over 10,000 until you posted the golf pic. i also remember a guy at a video game store telling me that each game had different set numbered collector's edition boxes. not sure how true that is, but maybe games that don't sell to well may have produced lower numbers.

maybe it just represents the initial quantity of games produced. perhaps if you got the 10,001st game produced your's didn't have the little gold "Limited Edition" sticker.

or it could mean first production run. i'm considering that because of the 1st round that is mentioned on the sticker.

thats the beauty of collecting games, so many new details are being discovered every day!

i wonder who has the lowest number? i have a 00695. it would be nice to have a 00001, but that is probably in the hands of madden or the game designer.
