We're back! I sent out invites to all players who played last year, but if you want in, let me know so I can get a feel for how many players we'll have this year and to adjust the league settings if needed.

I'm in.

What do you think about changing the points for defense "Points Allowed" stuff?

They are this now:

Points Allowed 0 points        10
Points Allowed 1-6 points      7
Points Allowed 7-13 points    4
Points Allowed 14-20 points   1
Points Allowed 21-27 points    0
Points Allowed 28-34 points    -1
Points Allowed 35+ points      -4

The way the NFL is these days, it seems like the last few years this category often has a minimal affect on the fantasy game. NFL games very often end with close scores and in the 20-something point range. This kinda makes the fantasy defense a minor factor much of the time unless they recover turnovers or something.

What about adjusting the scoring a little to make the defense matter more?

This is just an example of what I mean, I haven't really thought through the implications of this exact set up too much:

Points Allowed 0 points       12
Points Allowed 1-6 points     9
Points Allowed 7-13 points    6
Points Allowed 14-20 points   3
Points Allowed 21-27 points    0
Points Allowed 28-34 points    -3
Points Allowed 35+ points      -6

Because I have way too much time on my hands I added all the scores of both the winner and loser of every game last year and divided all 512 scores to the actual raw score number of 11,679 which gives you an average points total of 22.8105. This was just the regular season. The playoffs wouldn't change the data much.

Of course this year doesn't really have to end up like last year but data like this will likely trend to be the same since the era is still the same. Of course maybe in 20 years the game will have evolved again but for now it holds up.

We currently have 7 teams. We need at least one more. If you want an invite, please send me a PM and I can get an invite sent over.

We have 8 teams with 2 more invites out this morning. When do we want to try to draft? This weekend work? Either Saturday or Sunday?
