For starters, most NES collectors know of the 6 different Impossible Mission II versions out there (AVE, SEI b&w, SEI color, HES normal cart, HES piggyback, and Milmar).  What only some people know is that HES released a few games with US boxes instead of their own cases, and with a HES sticker on the boxes.

This had not yet been documented for Impossible Mission II, so when I saw a HES version with SEI box + sticker on the German eBay I just had to win the auction, and now it turns out that the box has a German SEI/Epyx sticker on it, and the manual inside is partially in German!?  I don't own the normal HES version of the game so I can't compare them, but could it be that this is a German / European release of the game?  Does anyone know if the Australian HES Impossible Mission II also has a multilingual manual?

I'm definitely glad I won this auction Wink

Thanks, I hope I really found something here Wink  I think I'm gonna post this at DP to see if anyone there knows anything about my discovery or something similar.  I'll scan the stuff and upload it here once I get back to Belgium.

P.S.  I almost forgot, there are actually 6 versions out there, two different HES versions (one normal cart, one piggyback that I forgot about), and the Brazilian Milmar release.

Well, I finally managed to fix my comp, so I scanned the German Impossible Mission II while at it.  Here are the scans:

Box front w/German sticker:

Box back (same as SEI version):

Manual (cover is same as original HES; unsure whether original HES manual also has German section or not):
http://i6.photobucket.com...ionII-Germanversion-M.jpg

Cartridge front (same as HES; upside down label):
http://i6.photobucket.com...ionII-Germanversion-C.jpg

Cartridge back (missing label; no sign of any past glue residue; unsure whether original HES version also lacks back label):

I could add the game to the database and upload the scans there, but seeing as we don't know much about this version yet, it's probably best to wait a little.
