Hey everyone! I found this as part of a trade in at my FLGS that they were tossing out. I was sure it was something ridiculous, but I can't seem to get too much info on the darn thing. Anyone know what this is?

EDIT: sometimes, it really helps to just check the database. The real question is how in the heck to put it into an NES?!

Maybe it fits into a top-loader NES. That, or it's for a clone console.

they were tossing out
Why?

EDIT: I just looked at the manual scan... Maybe you need to alter the console a bit first?

EDIT 2: Ah, yes. You need to remove the metal bar in the console: http://www.nesworld.com/gameactionreplay.php

Woah...neato!

They were tossing it cause they couldn't find it online...thought it was a crappy action replay thing...and cause of the console modification, they couldnt test it.

They are prone to not work, but you might get lucky. These things don't sell cheap!

I'd seriously be worried of it working properly if it's made by the maker of Action 52! This cart and theirs strike uncanny resemblances, and look, they both have Action in the name.

Oh... It appears the battery is missing... meaning it won't work...
But as if that wasn't bad enough, it was later discovered that the program used to run the Game Action Replaywas stored in some sort of RAM, I'm no techie here, which was powered by a battery included in the cartridge. Once this battery run dry the Game Action Replay wouldn't be much more than a useless piece of plastic.

Fortunately Kevin Horton of CopyNES fame came to the rescue and created a program to upload new firmware to the Game Action Replay once the battery has been exchanged with a new one.

battery is located in the back of the cart. It looks like there are two variants, based on battery position. Maybe later this week I'll give it a try and see if the RAM still exists. If not, anyone have a copyNES?

I don't have one, but I've heard of this issue before. Really shortsighted.

If it ends up dead and you want to sell it, give me a crack at it.
