Who's getting the most exercise out there? I know it's not me, but I'm curious to see how many KM's (whatever that means  Roll Eyes) you guys have walked.

Yeah, I'm far behind you guys. But I thought it was a cool idea for them to add this. At the very least, it's a record of exercise.

I'm fortunate enough that my place of employment highly encourages two 15 minute walks per day and walking at lunchtime. They bought us all Fitbits a few months ago and we have weekly team contests (we all hate the girl who was a runner in college...ha ha).  But yeah, the Fitbit in combination with Pokémon GO has been great for me.  The wife has noticed the weightloss and I feel better. More tired in the evenings, but my sleep is definitely better.  I'd encourage anyone interested in using this app as a motivation tool to go out and get the cheapest Fitbit Flex, which can be had for under $100. It actually tracks a ton of stuff for the price (just doesn't have the clock face). Well worth the price for your health.

Just got my first pokemon into a gym.

How come no one said you can collect in game currency for that!

Do i get XP for any battles my pokemon wins?
Also what happens when the gym gets defeated?
Do i get my pokemon back?

Yes. And as you mentioned you get coins for defending the gym. I have run a few gyms but have never gotten this bonus.

Also what happens when the gym gets defeated?
Do i get my pokemon back?

Yes, they'll automatically be returned to you when they are defeated.

To collect he bonus go into the shop.

I thought the icon up top would give some discount or extra if you made real world purchases. Since i finally tried training and got into a gym i figured i would check it back out.

Fired it up before my drive home in the hopes of grabbing a little more egg mileage.

There was an update. Checking it out now that i am home looks like it was cosmetic mostly.
Pokedex is fixed now and step counter went from everything being 3 steps away to 0 steps away lol

EDIT
Also there was a new warning screen after launch about not playing in "dangerous" areas.

If you haven't seen it on the front page yet, our Playcast just released a special episode on Pokemon GO. Please listen and give us your thoughts.
