PSA: Critics are stupid, as usual! Mighty No. 9 is a good game!

Rather than make a whole Blog Post about this, I figured it'd be better to post on the forums this time.
Mighty No. 9 is not a bad game! Don't let the likes of GameSpot/IGN/Other Reviewers lie to you. If you enjoy Mega Man X, or even the original Mega Man games, you'll like this game, I am sure. I post this message in the hopes that our members who are fans of Mega Man or Platformers in general will give it a try. I will say, however, that your better off getting one of the Console Versions. The Steam release has a nasty save data bug that, as of this message, has yet to be resolved.
Thank you for your time. Fight on, for everlasting peace!
DISCLAIMER: I am a non-attorney, non-paid, non-spokesperson for this game. In other words, a fan.

I plan on playing the X1 version soon, and I'll post my impressions here as well.

Yeah, I'm still looking forward to playing mine when it arrives. I always prefer to form my wrong opinions after actually playing a game!;) Lots if critically-panned games are favorites of mine.
Just recently, I talked a buddy into actually playing Hyrule Warriors Legends on his 2DS instead of assuming it was unplayable. I thought it still ran fine and was quite fun. A few dozen hours into it, and he (like me) just can't understand the hate.

See, this is one of the reasons I love this site: The people here are understanding, and will form they're own opinions instead of listening to dumb critics. I swear, a critic could spill scalding hot spaghetti sauce all over himself and he'd say it didn't hurt for a few extra bucks.

I am in the same boat as these folks. I rarely pay attention to critics. I have definitely hated games critics loved, i.e. God of War, CoD: Modern Warfare. Loved games critics hated as well. I do the same thing with movies. Critics are helpful to me when I are trying to get a sense of what a game is about. That is it. They don't usually determine what I buy.
I will probably pick it up soon, hopefully a physical copy.

I absolutely cannot believe Sega, of all companies, had the nerve to post this crap. I defended Sonic Boom for these people!!

To be fair, the Sonic Twitter account is all tongue in cheek posts and memes.^
I think people are just ticked off from the various delays and from the REALLY bad trailer they stupidly put out. The internet has a really bad habit of not being able to judge something solely off of the content of a work. Ad hominem and bad PR is always dragged into reviews. I usually reserve judgement until I actually play a game and I will do so with this one. I was going to buy it on release but I think it can wait.

I got my copy today and gave it a bit of play. For me it is exactly what I expected, and that is a great thing. It feels like a 90s styled Mega Man inspired game with better graphics. I haven't gotten that far yet, but I'm digging the new Xel dash/absorb system. Haters gonna hate.

I just beat it, and it...was the best thing I have seen/played since Final Fantasy XI. Absolutely magnificent, I loved every minute of it.
.......The Rap Song during the Credits was a bit much though.

If that's what it is like, I want this game.

Redd, I believe that was a reference to this article:

Another article recently said that he's not the one who said that.
http://kotaku.com/mighty-...all-the-proble-1782382706
That said, it's still a very disrespectful stab at what is clearly a good game, especially when a good Sonic Game is practically nonexistent these days.

I would never trust Kotaku as a source for anything.

I've got this one on the list to pick up soon. How is the difficulty compared to other Mega Man games? Is there a Wily's Fortress type of area at the end?

It's fairly difficult. Maybe, and this is a big maybe, as hard as Mega Man 1. That, or somewhere between Mega Man 1 and Mega Man 2. You don't have to re-fight the other Mighty Numbers, but the last 3 stages feel like a Wily's Fortress setup, the only difference is that they are separate from one another. The last boss is DEFINITELY more difficult than the last boss from Mega Man X7 though, and that's saying something, because that mess is really hard to beat.
