You guys are lighting this playthrough on fire, just like my red Yoshi here:

(btw, follow us on Twitter if you aren't already).

Anyway, this weekend is the time to put the finishing touches on your Super Mario Bros. 3 playthrough and fire up Super Mario World!

I love your screenshot maps. It reminds me of the ones you would see in the old Nintendo Power mags.

I totally agree. I still remember the Mario 3 player guide.  I have it somewhere...

Both are interesting and funny, though I don't know enough about TAS runs to really understand some of the things that are going on here.

We recorded the SMB3/SMW podcast this past Sunday and it was a lot of fun. A big thanks to nupoile for joining us on the podcast. His love for and knowledge of SMB3 was a very nice addition to our discussion.

It was really fun! I had a good time and hope everyone likes listening to it!

Personally, I think it will be their best episode yet   Tongue

I also want to mention that this is the only Mario I can recall that had a story, which I like.  Between each World it had the little tidbits to read.

Ha! What a strange, roundabout way to play SMB3. Though I guess if you played the GBA port as a youngster and want the same exact feel, then it's here for you.

I just finished SMW on the Super Famicom with 80 exits found. I may go back and play some more as time permits...

singlebanana: Thanks! It's always fun to play through games with the RF Gen community. Maybe we can try Shovel Knight soon....?

We will definitely take that suggestion into consideration

All this time has passed and I am just now finally learning that the number next to the save file is the number of exits found...and not percentage (which is what I originally thought) or the number of stages beat (which is what I thought up until now).

This was actually taken about 3 weeks ago, so it's probably about time I posted it.  Yes, that's Luigi in the picture.  My co-op partner was the one who actually beat the game.

Also, is it just me or do these two songs sound kinda similar?  (just listen to the first 10 seconds of each)
