Cool, I will have my videos up on Youtube soon, I am on World 7 right now ( using my NES ) I have just left it on like its 1990 al over again.  Also as for my streaming setup, its going to be overly complicated, just because I want to play on a CRT, upscale them to 720p (soon), record them, and play back on an HDTV... like I said overly complicated.  I wish I had the money to stream 3/DS games but the system is about 500 with the video out mod.

I do the same.  I usually run through most of the levels.

I still remember my excitement when I first played this game of kicking the turtle shell into the ? block in the first level and getting the raccoon leaf.  It was totally different from what Mario could do back in the day.

I played through the game two times this weekend. Just as Duke said it is amazing how much of this game comes back to you.

The Famicom version is a little harder as one hit will make you small.

The first time was on the Famicom:

The second time was on the SNES (All-Stars):

I'm ready for World.

Finally hooked my NES up lol. A little late but I planned on running through 3 in one day anyway. I always turbo through all of the older Mario games from start to finish as well. I've beat SMW so many times I try to do stunts and stuff when I run through now Tongue Looking forward to playing 3 on the original hardware for the first time in a good while.

The difficulty really does ramp up starting with world 7.

Worlds 6 and 7 were ones I've normally skipped when playing. Doing this playthrough though has made me realize they aren't that bad.

I played through SMB3 again, finished yesterday, after leaving the NES on for a few days waiting for me to carry on after leaving off in world 5. Last playthrough I did every level but one, this time I finished them all. I think from now on when playing I'm going to play more of the game rather than warping past spots.

Played as Luigi this time:

Made another map, notice all the "L" markers:

The Mario one I posted earlier for reference:

I need to hurry on to SMW now before my interest in platformers wears off. I have a tough time getting into platformers I didn't play as a kid. SMW I've tried to play many times but quickly give up on. I'm going to try for you guys though!

I love your screenshot maps. It reminds me of the ones you would see in the old Nintendo Power mags.
