I got to Round 8 without losing a life and only got around 270,000. Seems I only get a bigger score if I lose a life or two on earlier rounds. Don't know where and don't plan to find out a pattern but it's something for the others to see if they choose.

I've noticed that too. Seems that there are levels where you earn many more points.

Here's a pretty cool review of RT2 on the MegaDrive from a reviewer named Barry O"Brien: http://negativeresistance...under-2-on-sega-mega.html

You know, one of the things I really like about RT2 is that you don't take damage for simply running into enemies (unless you get punched). There is a quick kind of knockback, but nothing major and I often you this to my advantage when I play, since I don't have to fear jumping into/onto enemies. Anyone else do this?

I can't get used to it and don't like it. Like you said, there are times where you don't take damage, but it doesn't feel right when you flash and jump back. There have been times when I've been hit a couple of times in quick succession and look at my damage and nothing has been removed. There is a part in Round 7 where I have to do it to progress and it usually happens at the end of Round 5 but still feel uncomfortable.  Grin

I believe the first RT was damage every touch, so I definitely prefer this

Yep, you can pretty much just bury yourself in the bottom right corner and keep kneeling and firing. When the beam hits the ground in front of you, simply jump up to the next level, fire off a few shots, and jump back down.
