Well, one thing I'm pretty sure the fakes don't ever seem to have is numbers stamped into the label (kind of like embossing, only pressing it in).
If it has that, then it's more likely to be real. Smiley

- picked up my very first PS Vita for $49.99 $35.00. But since the screen is cracked and bleeding fluid, I hit the 'Bay and grabbed...

- ...a replacement PS Vita screen assembly for $32.99.

- Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monster Coliseum, Turok: Evolution, and Metal gear Solid 2: Substance, $2.99 $2.10 each

there's a million little things to look for, and there's no consistency. i've seen some with the stamped numbers that have other obvious problems. zoomed in on your photo and it's hard to tell for sure but it looks legit at first glance. best to find a guide online for how to spot fake GBA carts, most of them focus on Pokemon.

Here is a better shot at it, along with a close up of stamped letters in the label

@bickman2k: Happy belated birthday!

I've been traveling for work so I haven't had a chance to pick up anything lately but I did have a chance to meet an old friend....

Looks legit cverz, but can't confirm 100% without seeing the PCB. Still, for $0.99, I'd pick it up even if it were a pirate.

@cverz2: I would recommend you check two things:

1. Flip it over and check the back. Does it say Nintendo or Nintondo?

2. Look inside the cart and see if it says Copyright 200* nintendo on the PCB.

One caveat about that based on my own personal experience: I've yet to find a bootleg GB/GBC/GBA cartridge with a working game-save/continue feature. This is with games that are supposed to save of course... like every Pokeymans game ever, for example.

Maybe the west-side doesn't get the good boots like the Gulf Coast does? Which would be odd, seeing as how I live thousands of miles closer to the source of most of the bootlegs...

I forgot to post this earlier. I picked this up for my sons birthday before I left. I couldn't pass on the price.

Mine was sourced from Taiwan. Cheesy
It's actually a Pokemon cart that tried too hard to NOT be bootleg.

@cverz, i second that the label looks legit, but like shadow said there's always the possibility of the board inside being fake. why someone would use a real shell with a fake board, i have no idea, as you can't normally find people selling just the shell of a game, meaning they would have to buy the real thing then swap out the board for the fake one.
