I've got my pickups from the past 6 weeks or so, sorted by outings. Just prior to this was one of my "spendiest" phases ever.

The first time I went out, I just went to my "usual" game store and bought Legend of Mana, which they had listed for about $5 less than I'd be willing to pay:

The next week, I had no intention of spending money, but I ended up going to a retro toy store and couldn't help but find some deals in their small video game section, where most games are bundled in 5-packs with $5 price tags on them. The store is cool because no matter what, they deal you down (i.e., my stuff should have cost close to $30, but the guy said "Give me $20"). Most are doubles or games I don't want, but there was one game on my list (Sonic) and some pretty good trade fodder in Ico and Starfox Adventures (I'll also be giving a few away):

Last week, I ended up at my favourite store, where the guy convinced me to pick up Eternal Ring for dirt cheap. I did (figured it might help me out in future trades). Earlier that day, I went to a different store that typically has higher prices, but I found a decent deal (slightly below my expected retail price) on a TG-16 game I've been targeting, Aero Blasters. They'd actually picked up a really nice 25 game lot of TG-16 games, so I might be dipping my toe in that pool again.

Today, I picked up my first kijiji lot in a long time and I'm very happy with the price (20-50% below retail) and the quality of the merchandise. All but one of the games look pristine. The best deal of the lot is Bangai-o for $60 (CDN). Everything else was 10-15 dollars under retail, plus I got a second (french) Sonic Adventure manual that I wasn't expecting.

Again with the big post all at once, sorry, I'm just in a competition with Zagnorch and feel like I need to catch up or something....

I'll start with some kudos I should have given out earlier:

there's a video game in there somewhere!

Haven't seen much old PC hardware here in awhile   drool

Quote from: Crabmaster2000
Russ hooked me up something awesome!!! This drops my total Hu Cards down to 5 remaining!

Nice!

Quote from: Duke
This week has been crazy busy, so I wanted to post this earlier and also wanted to give a big thanks to our own Nup' for helping me get this. Every year he is awesome about picking up these show specific releases for me. THANKS NUPOILE!

You're welcome! Somehow I live in an area with multiple limited release homebrews put out each year. Bunch of long time hardcore gamers here in the rainy NW I guess.

Quote from: Zag
I am so jealous of Optimus Prime.

He told me that the tabletop version is waaay better than the Teletraan-1 port.

The Teletrann-1 port eh?....Actually that thing makes me wonder what a vector based Zaxxon port would be like. It kinda looks like one in the pic.

Quote from: shaggy
Picked these up on clearance at Half Price Books

I wish we had HPB in this area, you guys make it seem like some magical place.

Me too! Me too....

After waiting a couple weeks from when I first saw it, until it went on 50% off at a thrift store, I picked up another Playstation.

Any guesses why I picked up such a filthy thing to add to the stack of 4 I already have?

Spoiler (hover to show)

They don't sell for nearly as much as they once did on eBay but I now have the 3 major variants, plus the miniature one, I hope to have a "what's inside" blog up soon covering the SCPH-1001, SCPH-5501 and SCPH-9001

Wife and I went to the Cowlitz Gamers for Kids show this month. We go every year, it's mostly a gathering of local sellers and collectors. Good stuff and better prices than PRGE. Time to talk to sellers too and have a good time. Going in I didn't think we would buy all that much stuff, or spend much money but, we did.

Wife is into the Kinect now so we've been buying those games, there are more than I would have guessed. Had to buy at least one Genny game, there was another 3DS game but we sent that off to the nephew already, keeping Pilotwings to send to him later. There were more Wii games but we gave some away to a friend.

Bought some hardware, one because it was so random and the other because why wouldn't you want to play GB games on the Gamecube? Just need to figure out the lack-of-disc issue now.....

INTV games! This is mostly what I thought I would be buying. Have about 70 of them now, out of about 120 in the library.

Found this complete Wii just before we left under a sellers table. We've wanted one for a while so we're happy to have it. Although it ruined my hopes of staying and bidding on a nice Tandy 1000 setup they had at the silent auction  Undecided    can only spend so much money on games in one day you know?

Once we got home and I was going through stuff, I looked behind the Wii Sports disc inside it's sleeve. A bonus! A DVD movie someone had left in there!

What movie I wonder?

 grrr

A thrift find later on in the week yielded three more remotes as well as some remote accessories like the wheels and motion pluses and some other things not in the picture like grips and stuff. Good timing on that find!

At lunch time during the Cowlitz show we took a break, got some awesome burgers and walked to a thrift store. You know how when you are looking for games in the CD bins you can find cool stuff? Well other than games, you know what else you can find? CDs! They are so cheap and plentiful nowadays. Got these for $1 each, at those prices I'll buy any album I'm even remotely interested in. Plus, I had something to listen to while cleaning all this stuff.

Shaq Fu you wonder? I'm trying to go for a complete Shaq Fu collection, not really but I like saying that. It has a cool ad though:

and with lyrics like this:

TIM-BER!! They're all gonna fall cuz
The world is mine, all mine
Quick to treat between the line even Ray Charles ain't that blind
Pass me a Pepsi, forget that freakish Snapple
MC talkin head then I will smash him with the alley apple
Erick Sermon, Redman, Shaq
Three macks, you look for somethin wack you get smacked
Boom-pow-ping, da-ping-pat
Shaq, is back in effect, so how's that

 Roll Eyes

We did find some games at the thrift too:

Blade Runner had a cool bonus with it. Why would you keep this? Either you want the box or not. Don't you know if it runs on your PC? I really want to ask the person why? Hopefully it runs on my machine, 2MB video ram? IDK....at least we know krunch can run it.

I was lucky enough to win a part of the RFG fundraiser raffle! Some other awesome members sent me some awesome prizes! I totally forgot to take a picture of a sweet SMB t-shirt though, it is awesome though, trust me.

We played Flux and Boss Monster 2 the other day with some friends. One of them really liked the first Boss Monster and was excited to try this version. I really like the art both on the slip cover and the box itself.

So back to the Cowlitz show. Walking in there I knew I had to go get that game for Duke (top of post^^^) right away in case of a sell out. It was only available at the show and in limited numbers, but there was also a limited release 2600 game. I don't know why exactly I got it, I'm not a huge 2600 collector or anything, It is pretty awesome looking though and all the money for both games went to the shows charity. That map is silk and already unraveling   Smiley

Since I bought both that 2600 game and Dukes NES game, they gave me this poster as a bonus. Pretty neat looking I think.

One other thing from the RFG raffle! Thanks guys!

My good man Nupe might be interested in knowing that I saw my first boxed Odyssey2 this week.

I was out almost all weekend running errands but I managed to stop at some Goodwills and Savers.

Shall we play a game?

I was really happy to find a complete (legit) copy of Tetris DS for $2.00.

An Atari Flashback 5 for $6. Sure!

Free stuff. Game was from coworker and movie was from neighbor as he doesn't own a Blu-ray player:

As Zag would say .... one more thing....

It's Library book sale time!

Your library sells games. Mine doesn't, and I still walk away spending $100. Something's wrong here.

@Shadow: I keep away from the book/movie section. That's too dangerous for me.
What types of books do you usually buy?

Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Classic Literature, Reference Books (Computer/Science/Medical), and of course Strategy Guides and the like. This was from one sale in 2013:

There's a thread we tend to keep updated, if you ever want to pop in there:

I've been spending.
99p for NFSU on the PS2 and £2.99 for The Rub Rabbits on the DS.

The following games are sealed. From Poundland (£1 each)

What's this!? An XBOX 360 for £5? Oh wait... It's the HD DVD drive for an XBOX 360!

Oh good, you got the installation disc for it.
I didn't realize Rub Rabbits came out here in the US.

I don't have an XBOX 360 to use it with, though supposedly it'll work with a PC. Smiley Still need to test it.
It looks like someone or something has chewed or at least bitten all the cables. I wouldn't trust the main power cable because it's got some deep marks in it. Luckily it's just a standard figure 8 cable.

EDIT: Well, it would work... if I had a player capable of playing HD DVDs. VLC can't. I'm not going to bother looking for one.
