I just went to the best concert ever last night!  For those of you familiar with Cincinnati, this was down at Annie's.  Opening was American Pumpkin, a local metal band.  They were decent, but when L.A. Guns came on stage, they got BLOWN AWAY.  I was going to buy a couple L.A. Guns CD's and get them signed, but oddly enough, they didn't have any for sale. They put on a good show, though.  (Drummer was awesome, BTW.)  It's good to hear good old metal bands still rocking.

I would have been happy with just that, but the headliners, DOKKEN, came out, and just about took the place down because they were so awesome.  They're one of the best (if not THE best) live bands I've ever seen.  Don Dokken was hilarious (trying to convince the audience he was a virgin, among other things).  There was an eleven-year-old kid in there that somehow got past the people checking ID at the door.  He knew ALL the words to EVERY Dokken song, and was in the front row of the pit all night.  They pulled him up on stage for the last song and let him sing.  That was something you don't see every day.  Very, very cool.

My ears are still ringing today, but that was one helluva show.  I can't wait till Warrant and Great White come to town.

I got to see Dokken once with Great White, and that show was about marginal.  I really wanted to see this last show (they were here last Thursday), but I couldn't find anyone who wanted to go with me and I hate going to concerts alone.  Thier new guitarist is sweet.  He sounds like a mix between George Lynch and Eddie Van Halen.

Yeah he's pretty good.  I liked George Lynch a little better, but that's just me.  L.A. Guns had a good new guitarist as well - Stacy Blades.  GREAT name he has there, too.
