It's a nice gimmick, but I agree with Arrr. It doesn't look like it would be too comfortable for extended play. Then again, I'll probably get it anyway. I'm crazy like that.

I don't intend on buying one, but it does look nice. But, I think the SP is very much satisfactory, and it even fits in my pocket, just like the Micro!
good point. and when the SP is in your pocket it's closed and the screen is protected. not so with the micro.
I've never had a problem scuffing up my screens but I have picked up a few Gameboys and Game Gears that have scratched screens.

I think that the new gameboy, well kind of, sucks. It is really small and don't get me wrong, I do like Nintendo. My assumption is that Nintendo released the Game Boy Micro, to prove a point that many people confuse: the fact that the DS is NOT another gameboy, it is a whole system in itself. I believe the main reason that Nintendo released the GBM was to prove that point. I also think this system is designed for small hands, because of the size. Just think about it: do you really want to dish out $100 for a new version of something everyone allready has not once, but three times? (counting the fact that you CAN play gameboy games on the DS.)

I noticed that during Nintendo's press conference they called their portable dominance by 2 1/2:1, and when Reggie said that it showed the SP, Micro, and DS. I don't think the SP is going to go anywhere, for the reason that the Micro is tiny, and not all people want tiny. Their presentation hinted at that, and I bet come fall that is what we shall see.

the only advantage the Micro has to the SP is that the screen is backlit instead of frontlit. a frontlit screen slightly washes out the colors, but seriously, with a 2 inch screen who's gonna notice that the image is sharper. I think the GBA SP was small enough, I've never had a problem fitting it in my pockets (probably because I don't wear women's jeans lol). The only market I can see actually having a micro is little kids. I can see countless Micros going through the wash (ask izret about some of the things he's lost over the years). And removable faceplates? No one buys those... The GBA Micro has got to be the STUPIDEST thing Nintendo has EVER done, and if I'm saying this -- a Nintendo fanboy ruled only by nostaligia -- it must be REALLY bad.

Oops, I forgot about that....
but at least the Virtual Boy wasn't a horribly tiny rehash of a good system, it was original....

And don't forget cartridges on Nintendo 64. That one lost them the uncontested #1 spot in the industry.

It's pretty cool looking. I won't be buying one though. I'd still have my fiirst model one if my brother hadn't given me his SP.
But hey, it's putting more money into Nintendo's pocket, so I'm fine with that.

Wow. I always wanted to play the CD-i Zelda games, but I've changed my mind. I never knew link coud look THAT gay. I think "Faces of Evil" is a very fitting title.

Hahaha. Yeah, I haven't played them either, but only want to so that I can see them for the historical perspective.
