Sometimes, a movie is made by its ending.  A mediocre or even bad movie can suddenly become great if the ending twists in just the right way.  So what's your favorite movie that is made by its ending?

My first submission is:  Secret Window.  If you've seen it, you know what I mean.  Parts of the ending were predictable, but others were rather creative and cool.  I loved it.

When the chick says "I should have been on your side" at the very end of Versus.  If you don't understand, go find the film.  It is very good and very gory.

It's been a while since I saw Versus, but I didn't really like it.  The first half hour or so blew me away, but after that it seemed to just drag and drag....  too low on substance and too high on style.

ok nep i have to disagree with you on secret window.  that movie was sweet until the end when it became predictable.  depp is an acting god and was playing the character like he always does, flawless.  but the ending seemed like more of the same, plus i felt like the movie was dumbed down at the end.

*spoiler*
i was glad to see that ted got it in the end tho, even after we found out that depp's character had changed... dude was just a dick.
*end spoiler*

now swimming pool had a GREAT ending because the movie didnt seem like it was holding your hand and guiding you thru the end of it.  it left it pretty much wide open at the end and let you ponder what happened.  it was a nice twist that didnt walk you thru how it happened, you had to think back about what had all happened in the movie to fully understand the plot and story.

P.S.  we need a spoiler font, something that needs to be highlighted to read.

Oh yeah Swimming Pool did have a great ending.  I completely forgot about that movie.  Of course there are the movies that had endings that pissed me off because the main characters were really likeable and then they got pooped on in the end: Spider-Man, and to a bigger extent Laugh, Clown, Laugh.

***SPOILER***
I totally agree about Ted getting it in the end - and his wife too.  They were both complete assholes, sleazebags, and more.  This and the corn were the main things I liked about the ending.  Some of the other stuff was predictable, yes, but the corn garden was perfect.

I liked the end of Silent Running, where the little droid with the watering can floats off into space tending his space-greenhouse.

And THAT'S why you must see Spider-man 2.
