I voted favorable because I am indifferent. Doesn't affect me, in my collecting. Every modern day collecting has a version of it. CBGA for comics and one for action figures. There is no right or wrong way to collect. If you want a game sealed away, never to be used, that is your prerogative. Who am I to say that, that is not the way to collect? It's not for me but I can see merits to it.

I can understand the logic behind it for some. But on the whole i do not agree with it. When i see someone has gotten a 10-20$ game VGA graded and then sticks a several hundred $ asking price on it it just seems asinine.

That is a bit silly. I only know of one person who has a graded game. Its not a very rare or valuable game, but it has a personal attachment to that person. Unfortunately, grading is always going to be associated with trying to turn a profit. I have often wanted to have my copy of Walking Dead #19 graded so its value doubles. If I ever did sell it, makes a $300 comic, worth $600.

I collected comics for a while as a kid and sports cards for many years.  I have no issue with grading cards because slabbing a card still allows you to "use" it for it's intended purpose, which is just basically to look at it - a big reason why I finally abandoned the hobby.  I'm a little torn on grading a comic book, because you can no longer read it when it is stuck in acrylic limbo.  For the extremely valuable books, it is understandable.  But a game is meant to be played.

And relative to what Izret mentioned, when you lock a game away in a graded case then want $100s for it, you have effectively stolen it from the gaming community.  I would enjoy seeing someone buy a rare graded game for an ass load of money, then break the seal to play it, but that someone won't be me.

There are some games that I would consider it as a much greater loss to the gaming community to have them opened than kept sealed. And that doesn't necessarily make sense any way. If a collector owns a loose cart that game is not available to the gaming community anyway, whether it is opened or sealed. By that logic only resellers are a boon the gaming community because they are circulating the games again and us collectors are on equal grounds to someone getting a game graded and slabbed.

I have over a dozen games that I'm currently holding onto that I plan to get graded. Just waiting until I have the disposable cash to spend on the process. And thanks again for helping me get my TMNT graded Izret

It's a niche market. It represents a very small portion of the marketplace, one that I'd venture to guess very few (if any) of the members of this site dabble in.

If it's not your demographic, and it has no effect on the prices of the games that you are buying, I can't understand why you'd care that it exists.

If it had been anyone else i probably would have. Scorpion face melt into Sub Zero spine rip into a Kano heart rip with the other hand.

But he is my favorite guy at that PO. Actually my favorite guy from any PO i've been to in recent memory lol
