*Claps wildly*

Nice choice on video card and proc.  I have a friend about to get into PC car driving sims and I'm going to convince him to go the AMD route.  Pretty much the same performance at half the price.  And that video card is awesome (I have one myself).  Nuts how strong it is drawing so little power.

Now that you have your rig together what game are you thinking of breaking it in with?  If I might be so bold to recommend:  For cheap games that look nice I would point to Far Cry 2 and 3.  Half Life 2 and friends are always good looking.  Just Cause 2 cranked to max is a wonder to behold.  Fallout 3 and New Vegas are on sale on Steam right now for pretty cheap, but to be honest your rig will barely sneeze at those games.  The Metro games look great, as does the Alan Wake games.  You could get a ton of great games for next to nothing at the forthcoming Steam sale.

We need to start some sort of "Computer Rig" thread, where members can show off pics and specs for their computers.  But first I need to get some glowing blue (or green) stuff for my case.  Man that just looks cool.

I "acquired" The Evil Within and I've played through the first three chapters so far, it's optimized like poop but it's still fun and fully playable(thinking of fiddling with the resolution a little more because it I dropped it from 1080p to like 1600x1050 and it helped a lot). I've also managed to get Skyrim running nearly maxed out at 1080p and a solid 50-60FPS.

I'm going to start getting steam cash and buying cheap games as soon as I can because as far as big games I only have L4D2 and Portal on there as of now.

Doesn't it? I got lucky and got that case with the two pre-installed blue-LED fans for $35.

My condolences.............. Wink

Technically the Xbox One and PS4 are PCs too, so right now it's a matter of who do you want to be the manufacturer of your PC.

I like Bomba's computer set up thread idea. One thing I've noticed about the PC world is that it's very similar to the realm of car enthusiasts. The constant upgrades, new parts, rebuilding, comparing components and performance. I'd like to see advice and tutorials on putting these behemoths together. When I started my PC project I was so overwhelmed that I had to go back to the store and get their tech department to build the computer for me.

My only saving grace on this is that I've torn down and re-assembled in working order enough old clunkers I some-what knew what I was doing.

Between the fact it's a Blu-Ray burner and I own so many PC games on disk it's a necessity for me. Progress will have to pry the optical drives from my cold, dead hands before I own a PC without one.

My next build will include an optical drive too. Smiley
