So it is widely rumored that very few Atari Jaguar CD units were produced. According to the internet, as few as 20,000 units were produced. I would like to take an inventory on the serial numbers of existing systems and compare them, to see if we can get an estimate on maybe how many are still out there, and some insight on how many units were produced. Also tell me if yours works or not.

I would like to take inventory on the Serial Number, and the date of manufacture. To begin I will list mine.

Mine works perfectly.
Serial No. : 535B012397
Date of Manufacture 11/1995 (written on the unit as 9511)

Maybe this means I have the 12,397th unit?

Thank you for your cooperation and hopefully we can find out a bit more about the scarcity/production numbers of this unit

Not sure where you're getting the 535B/535C batch numbers?

Serial No: 02716
Date of MFG: 9534 (3/4/1995)

I don't know.  What I do know is that mines serial isn't near that short.  Although with your MFG date.  I wonder if mine is 12/95 or 1/2/95.

Mine came from a former Atari employee (who also offered to sell me a Jaguar toilet seat, which I kindly said no to), so it wouldn't surprise me if mine was part of the original batch.
