Requirements:
  • Preferably £100 or less.
  • Good at running the Source Engine games at the highest settings in 1920x1080.
  • 1GB+ GDDR5 Memory.
  • ATI/AMD (All but one of the computers I have used at home has ATI/AMD)
I have an "ASUS P8H61-M LE/USB3" motherboard, which apparently does not support Crossfire/SLI.
I have a "Pentium G620" processor at 2.6GHz.

The "VTX3D VChamp HD7790" seems good. I was initially looking at an ASUS HD7770 which was around that price.
I've also seen the "MSI Radeon R9 270 Gaming Edition OC" which is higher specced, lower priced, but uses more power. Undecided

Anyone got suggestions?

The Geforce 750 Ti is the card to get right now near that price point or lower, uh, as far as I know   Wink

But you did mention the R9 270 which is more expensive than the 750 Ti but also a better card I think.

Hopefully someone else will jump in with a recommendation here too, but at the moment I think the 750 Ti and the R9 270 are the two card to decide between around that price. There is always the option of later getting a second 750 Ti and running them in SLI if you want to save a little money now (over the R9 270) and upgrade later.

Ah, forgot to specify. I'd like ATI/AMD (I am used to it).

But you did mention the R9 270 which is more expensive than the 750 Ti but also a better card I think.
Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti (Free shipping)
MSI Radeon R9 270 Gaming Edition OC (£8.00 shipping)
VTX3D AMD Radeon HD 7790 (Free shipping) (Image is of a VTX3D VCHAMP version)

Nah, I don't want to bother with Crossfire/SLI. Also, apparently my MoBo doesn't support it.

EDIT: That R9 270 is now too expensive: £141.59 total. Sad

Ok, so...
For £28 pounds less than a Sapphire AMD HD7790 OC 2GB, I could get a Sapphire R7 260X 2GB OC.
The R7 260X uses more power, but might be marginally better than the 7790.

I don't know what to do!

If this helps, I have a Pentium G620 2.6GHz.

Should be pretty current news. When you do figure out what you want, let us know!

One problem I have is space for long cards... I think I can fit around 21.5cm cards, but only just.
Sometimes cheaper, higher performing cards are too long for my generic case.
I might need to look for a bigger case before getting a new graphics card, but most I've found* have been too tall for my desk (Desk space is ~40cm tall). Undecided
Before I measured my desk, I was looking at a Zalman Z11.

Oh how things can be a pain in the butt...

*That meet my requirements:
  • Max 40cm tall (40.5cm might be a squeeze...)
  • 2+ Optical bays
  • 3+ Side mounted HDDs
  • Enough space for long graphics cards
  • No front door (I can't stand them)
  • Possibly a bottom mount PSU
  • Possibly a FDD bay

I don't think I'd like to do that, and besides, I have nowhere to safely put it. Tongue
