I still have these after all these years and for me and maybe others find it a little interesting to see them. You may even find a game or 2 that never released asking you to pre order. For the Younger crowd may find a few things you never heard of.

I can't post the images in full to will post a link to an album.

That's nuts. People forget that games were $60 back in the day too. But thwey were kids then and don't remember or didn't now.

Games got much higher than 60$s back in the day.
I know there were a fair number in the 70-90 range and didn't one of the street fighters hit like 109 or 119?

What really struck me was the vast price difference between the SNES/Genny/PSX games.
But what hit me before that was seeing the 3 of them lumped together.

In my childhood they had so much more clearly defined life cycles.

Very cool.  It's also pretty funny to see how incredibly far technology has come.  The PlayStation memory card said it has 112K of RAM for $25.

I like how in that ad for the Game Boy the tetris game actually looks like someone was playing it. Usually it would be like someone who lost tetris with a bunch of random sprite characters that didn't belong there.

@Izret101: I remember Street Fighter 2 as $80 upon release but 1UP has a comparison chart:

I'd still pay $60 for Metroid II. Fantastic game.

Wow, brings back memories of walking into ToysRus with my brothers when I was six and buying a Genesis.  First memory I have of being amazed at the sheer number of games surrounding me.

I think all of these ads were destroyed by kids reading them 1000 times and circling all the stuff they wanted.  drool

Good deal on that Lunar! I'll be honest, I've never even heard of "Sonic Xtreme". Amazing it made as far as a print ad before it was canceled...
