So I picked up a Pathfinder Cart, and I am puzzled as to what version I have.  I thought it was an Atari 800 version, but I was told it isnt which I believe because of the activision name on the front of cart. Instead I was told it was Colecovision, which i did research and it looks like the game was never released for Colecovision. I then looked up the Commodore 64 version and Pastfinder came in a 5" floppy format, but couldnt find out if it came in cart form.

So my question is what console is this game for?  I have provided a picture to see if any experts out there can help me with this.  Thanks!

It certainly isn't Coleco, you can tell by the shape. I'm not sure, but I would start by counting the number of pins on the edge connector and doing a little Googling. Hopefully someone here will chime in with more info.

From what I could tell from the image it looks to be an Atari XE cart.

That is assuming this ebay picture is correct. Which is the same picture you posted.

That was my auction, but I took it down because someone messaged me saying it wasn't Atari. This is one of the reasons why I am trying to find out which one it is because the Atari xe version is worth about 200-300 bucks
if it is not it is worth less.

There is a Commodore 64 cartridge version, but it doesn't match the cartridge shape:

Company : Activision

Rating  : 9
Rarity  : Scarce
Comments: It is just typical that probably the best Activision game available on cartridge is the hardest to find. Travel over the radiated landscapes, seeking artifacts, shooting the nasties and bouncing over the obstacles. Starts off tricky and gets hard reasonably quickly, this game will provide a lot of variety and challenge.

I'm leaning towards A8 as well, as the cartridge shape is the only one that matches. There is an HES and Activision version of the Atari A8 cartridge, and yours is the Activision version (which is the more expensive version). You should ask the person that contacted you about it to find out WHY they think it's not the A8 version, as it's obviously not the C64 version.

It kind of looks like the Pitfall II cartridge for C64..maybe they had different cart size variations.

Shadow if you look at the Registration on the cart of the first picture you posted its DC-104-04 which is C64 also if you look closely at the left hand side of the picture there is the curved ridge so the one Fokakis possibly has is the C64 Cart...the Atari 800 version's code is CC-104-04.

Good point...missed that. Good eye - that's why I posted the pictures. I wasn't aware Activision did the curved cartridges for C64. If that's the case, it's technically rarer than the A8 version.

It's more rare?  I thought the A8 Version was more expensive?  Yeah I knew they had the curved edges because my Pitfall II for C64 is curved lol I had to take a closer look at the pic you posted.

Yeah - cart version of Pastfinder for C64 is rarer, at least according to Mayhem (who collects various systems and has been very meticulous about his documentation in the past, especially with PAL Xbox). As I mentioned, you can always contact Mayhem and see what he says.

Yes, I know it says Pastfinder. I only mistyped it in my last post after seeing everyone typing it as Pathfinder. I'll fix it.

Yep confirmed it was C64, Mayhem helped me out with it. Thanks for the suggestion. From what he told me it is the rarest Actvision game for the console. Mayhem said it is quite a good challenging game. Now the only question is do I sell it or do I pick up C64 so I can play it
