From what I've read of it (outside of this article), they're selling off the PC division to an investment firm and separating themselves from the TV division. Good move IMO.

I like iPhones for the same reason I hate apple computers. They're simple, they work, and are hard to fuck up. I give up the ability to modify or tweak my phone for such convenience, but I would never do so with my computers.

It looks like everyone would rather have a go at Apple instead.  After all, they're pretty much creating their own rope to hand themselves with, so it's pretty easy.   Tongue

Do we have any Everquest players here?  Seems like they would be the ones sweating bullets after that announcement.

I'm glad Sony has finally realized it's time to spin off unsuccessful business ventures.  Apparently their TV line has been losing money for the past 10 years.  Sony has billions in cash, so they aren't going anywhere soon.

I'm glad Kaz has the guts to sell off business units.  It seems like it is the opposite of what a Japanese executive would normally do, and I'm glad he did.  Maybe they'll finally be profitable by 2016.

I kinda want to get a Sony TV that does the 2 player ps3 games, all  2 of them, before they stop on the TV side.  also they always was too much for what is they are.  Vizio and Samsung keeps them cheaper

Haha, yeah, but somehow I missed the post originally. Plus it's a good opportunity to show I'm not anti-Sony or anything, despite not owning a PlayStation since the original console. Tongue

I hear you.  I LOVE my Sony Bravia TV.  Friends have commented on the picture quality many times, and one of them dropped massive money on an 80" Sharp.  A coworker has the same Bravia TV and receives the same reaction.  I could care less about the Vaio line, but the TVs must live on.
