My video game scores have been pretty minor, but I have gotten plenty of paper and plastic. No, I am not talking about bags. I am referring to:

Pinhead and Jack Burton ReAction figures

Diamond Select Back to the Future I (in BttF II box) DeLorean
A familiar Commando from '82 is at the wheel now

So we had a first annual entertainment expo called FanCon here in our sleepy Northern B.C. town. Crabby was set up in what myself, and many others considered, the best part of the whole thing. Gamers Alley. Crabby had tons of amazing tabletop games, so after coming so close to a victory last time my group played it, I grabbed this from his vending booth:

I went to the Con with a bunch of money, hoping for more nostalgic toys of my youth. and even older ie: Mego
They had zilch, so I decided to check out an older gentlemen gigantic comic section. His prices were very fair, so I grabbed a couple issues on the first day, a good amount the second day, and a few more on the last. These are the highlight books I grabbed (in varying grades) and why I bought them for my collection:

(top row for left to right)
-Swamp Thing #1(1972)- While it may not be the first appearance of Alec Holland as the DC creature known as Swamp Thing, it was his first issue. I looked for House of Secrets #92 (1st app.) but alas, was denied.
-Fantastic Four Annual #6 (1968)- !st appearance of the Negative Zone villain Annihilus and, the unammed baby of Sue and Reed (later named Franklin)
- Thor #132 (1966)- 1st appearance of Ego the Living Planet. Typical Marvel first appearance. Doesn't appear until the end of the issue, and the story is to be continued....
- Thor #134 (1966)- First appearance of the High Evolutionary
(bottom row from left to right)
-Tales to Astonish #90 (1967)- First appearance of Abomination (Emil Blonsky)
-Marvel Superheroes #13(1968)- First appearance of Carol Danvers, who eventually becomes Ms. Marvel
,-Strange Tales #146 (1966)- the first appearance of A.I.M.
-Tales of Suspense #48 (1966)- first appearance of the second Agent 13 AKA Sharon Carter, and the first appearance of Batroc the Leaper.
These books were also eagerly acquired:

Got a Masters of the Universe Classics Modulok figure, from an online toy store, a few days ago:
,

Added this to my growing tabletop collection:

Snagged these tonight. Was super stoked for Chewie....

...so that I could finally complete the duo

And finally, for scale:

Even though I'm the Optimizer's biggest fan, I think it's best to let Han & Chewie lead this crew. But the team won't be truly complete without...

And if the Millennium Falcon's not available, I have a capable transport on standby:

^ So, I've actually flow on Air China. I wasn't lucky enough to get to ride on an extended range 777 though, it was probably some knock-off Boing 7T7-3000RE or something.
Funny thing about that, my wife and I, plus our Chinese friend/host got to sit in the emergency exit isle. I was in the window seat. The stewardess comes by and nicely tells me that this is an emergency exit isle and asks that I don't mess with the hatch to open the window. Then she turns and says something to our friend in Chinese. After she walks away our friend says to us with a bemused expression and goes, "You know what she said to me? She (the stewardess) said, quite sternly, 'You watch him! Make sure he doesn't open the window!'"
Clearly I looked like the kind of guy who would decide mid-flight to get up and go for a walk....outside. We still laugh about this, and it's one of my favorite stories to tell of going to China.

Awesome, Big Trouble in Little China Action Figures, that made my day.
@nupoile, thats hilarious, but really you shouldn't open that door

I have had these games on layaway for a few weeks from our very own Zag. Finally forked over the last of the money, and got em in a few days. I have been wanting Twilight Imperium for some time now. Fortress America has got to be one of the most patriotic board games, I have seen. (Just think of Red Dawn in Board Game form) Anyways, I think I now have the perfect game for July 4th.
Battle Masters is incomplete, but I think I can remedy that. That Battle Mat it has may have second use as a D&D board
Thanks Zag for the CUTIES, they are awesome, and they fit right at home with my M.U.S.C.L.E. collection.

Hey, speaking of games, check out what I picked up a few days ago, still sealed and everything:

Now I want you to be honest: d'ya think I got a good deal on it?
On another note: those ReAction figures are so awful, they're awesome.

$5 for a sealed Catan. Good deal.
And I agree about the Reaction figures. Pretty horrible but that's part of the appeal.

I also noticed blister variations between them...
