I went to my local goodwill on Thursday, and to my surprise they had a Timex Sinclair 1000 in the box for $5.99.  I'm pretty sure that's a good deal.  I have no idea how to use it, but since it was in the box, I grabbed it.  I'm thinking about selling it, but I have no idea as to whether or not it works.  If anybody knows how to use one of these and what I'm missing, let me know.  The parts I have are:

-box (pretty worn, but not too badly)
-styrofoam inserts
-the computer itself
-power adapter
-lead and plugs for cassette recorder connections

Any information on this would be much appreciated!

What the hell is it? A computer sized watch? Don't feel like you have to answer I'll go look it up eventually.

Haha, no, its not a watch/computer combination.  Its also not really a console video game system, its more of a computer, but it still hooks up to your TV.

Here's a link to some information on it: http://www.vidgame.net/timex/timex.htm

Sure, I'll sell it to you, but how would I get it to you?  And also, remember that It could or could not be working.  I have no idea.  Either way, if you want to buy it, I'll sell it to you.  How much do you want to pay?

I was just about to say that you should talk to THX, but it looks like he got here before I did.

I've got 2 Sinclair 100's and a ZX80. there's a RAM expansion pack that plugs into the back that you need for it to work I think. I haven't tried mine without it plugged in. I also thing the software for it was cassette only.

and yeah THX would be the xpert on that particular computer.

Yeah, the box has a little chart thing that shows how everthing should hook together, and there's a cassette recorder involved.

$20 is too much for me.

You could probably sell it at www.worldofspectrum.org some of the members are
U.S residents.

Den, that ZX-80 is highly collectable, and if you do sell it, it would be worth at least £100. The manual alone, often sells for at least £10. A boxed mint one, can fetch over £200 on a good day.

bad news. They made over 400,000 of them, and only 60,000 ZX-80's.

That's worth around £50 tops. £30 on an average ebay day.

Alright, if $20 is too much, then $14 will be just fine.  Would you be able to pay shipping?

yes I would Smiley

Could you be so kind as to find out what the air mail and the surface mail rates are, and then let me chose which one to use? I'd be very grateful.

Do you have a Pay-Pal account?
