Show what gamer related items you received this holiday season here.

For the Atari 8 Bit computers  The Last Starfighter  RX 8076 Prototype ( 1 of 2 known and featured on AtariProtos.com ) Comes with a repro cart with label which I believe came from AtariAge a while back. Very cool finds. The proto is dated 5/29/84. If memory serves This later became Star Raiders 2 in 1985 on the XE line RX 8078.

*RESERVED*

I remember reading the AtariProtos.com article on this a couple years back when I last saw The Last Starfighter. A friend of mine and I were discussing which systems it came out on, and I was surprised that it was repurposed into Solaris on the 2600 and Star Raiders II on the 8-bit systems. Your cartridge has a later timestamp than the AtariProtos.com version - have you tried doing a ROM dump and seeing if it's binary equivalent, or checking for any gameplay differences?

(excuse the crappy camera, the game in the GS case is RE5):

I'm happy about this because I've been wanting a PS3 for a few of the exclusives(I'm going to build a decent $600 rig and try out PC gaming to usher in the PS4/XboxOne gen)

My parents also got me this because my Mom knew I needed a new one and had seen my eye-balling this one:

Non-gaming, but something that shows some things about me:

These things came courtesy of surprise early gifting to myself, since I always do my Christmas shopping for everyone else throughout the year, and was finished in late October this year. Cheesy

I now own all three of the cartridge versions of the Miracle Piano Teaching System, along with the Mac version that I found CIB earlier this year, and the MIDI cable is for the NES version, all courtesy of eBay.  Now I might be able to learn how to play piano at age 31 and do something with my life. Smiley Tongue

Miracle Piano Teaching System For SNES    $29.99
Miracle Piano Teaching System For Sega Genesis    $45.00
NES MIDI Cable For Miracle Piano Teaching System    $21.99

The rest of the games, except for the Tomb Raider: Chronicles, came from Goodwill at various times throughout the month, mostly when I was sneaking in while running errands and taking an extra 10 minutes a trip that I really didn't need to take. Tongue  The Tomb Raider came from another local thrift store when I took my nephew there for my sister so he could pick out a few toys early for Christmas.

Jak II For Playstation 2    $3.00
Motocross Mania 3 For Playstation 2   $3.00
Bust-A-Move 2 Arcade Edition For Playstation 1    $3.00
Nascar 99 For Playstation 1    $3.00
Gran Turismo For Playstation 1    $5.00
Tomb Raider: Chronicles For PC    $1.50

These are my Not-So-Secret Santa gifts, of course courtesy of Zagnorch.  Once again, thanks for everything, Zag, and I will be sending a more physical thank you to you sometime in the near future for it.

Super Mario Checkers & Tic-Tac-Toe Collector's Game Set    Free From Zagnorch

Hey now!

My Yuletide vidya haul was pretty modest:

- Epoch Galaxy II tabletop game: Moonraker Fats sent this to me just for the asking. I gotta throw something his way one of these days to show my gratitude...

- Killzone and Blast Works: courtesy of Mr. Bliskt.

- Goodwill of Silicon Valley $10 gift card: given to me by a retired couple who I bump into quite often while thrifting. BTW I'm aware it's not directly related to vidya, but considering what I'm primarily on the hunt for at Goodwill...

- LoZ Oracle of Ages choose-your-own-adventure book: Wempster shot this my way after I posted a score of its Oracle of Seasons counterpart. My thanks to you, sir, and my apologies for calling you "the Wimpster" behind your back to the voices in my head...

I didn't get a ton of gaming stuff for Christmas, but I got a few things that have been high on my wish list for a while.

I just started playing through Batman:  Arkham Asylum, so getting Arkham City is pretty cool

Looks like your link to your YouTube video isn't working.

Let's try this instead:

Ahh, much better.

And now, my fave bits from this presentation:

2:04 HOLY CRAP THROW THAT INTO THE FIRE RIGHT BEHIND YOU BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE--

2:10 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

2:58 OH SWEET JESUS NOT ANOTHER ONE OH WHY GOD WHYYYYY

5:21 "I wonder if they have the gum in them." If they do, for the love of God DO NOT TRY IT! Trust me on this, I learned the hard way.

6:00 Ooh! Ooh! here comes the best part!

6:58 Daikatana is right up there with Superman 64 and E.T. as one of the worst games ever made. I'm guessing your unfamiliarity with Daikatana is due to it being a PC game, although they did put it out on Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color.  Just type "Daikatana" and "John Romero" into your fave search engine to learn just how much of an epic fail it was.

8:09 You are really strugglin' to open up that ziplock baggie... I'm gettin' a little worried here.

8:20 It's a-- you know what, I'll letcha figure it out on your own.

8:50: Lion-O?! Well, at least you didn't name him Snarf. That would have warranted a call to your local ASPCA right there...

9:22 Oh cool, you figured it out. Gratz!

9:52 Sheesh... Lion-O didn't really have the holiday spirit, did he? Maybe you should rename him Scrooge.

I made this gift for everybody last year. I didn't do anything holiday related this year other than my post about Thief, but hey, there are only so many commercials I can find on youtube after all!
