Maybe they are trying to distance themselves from Tiger?

2006
Woods signs a new six-year contract with EA Sports - the company behind his video game series.

Maybe the next golf game from EA will be Masters 2015 with no Tiger references.

I should clarify.
If they were still going to really be pushing the series as Tiger Woods wouldn't he be on top of the art instead of "included" with what seems to be a new series Wink

Lol, Bubba Watson is on the cover? I got his autograph at a tournament. Very nice guy.

I guess they assume Tiger is finished. It IS possible that he'll never win another major, but I find it odd that they dropped him now, rather than during his scandals.

"EA and Tiger Woods came to a mutual decision to end their partnership"

Hmmm, mutual? So Tiger Woods, who loves every cent he makes, said 'Nah, that's okay, EA. Cancel that delivery of the dump truck filled with money.'

I don't buy it.

John Madden will be dead for 20 years and they'll still come out with Madden 2041.

So you've got 2021 pegged as the over/under year for John Madden's passing? Someone alert the Vegas oddsmakers!

Not for Madden, I don't think so. I agree with Dezorian. I see Madden NFL being Madden NFL until he dies. Then maybe they'll still use him but he will be the cover boy for the revived Madden's Mutant League Football where he is the head coach of the "Booms" and his QB is Brett Favre

After 15 years of Tiger Woods games i don't think the reason the partnership was dissolved was just because the contract was up.

There are just better players out there than him now and EA was still locked in a contract with him when he started losing (or continued to lose?) his talents on the course and getting the shit kicked out of him by the media.

Ha, I knew someone would call me out on that.

5 years ago it was a forgone conclusion that Tiger would break Jack Nicklaus' record for majors, thus making him the greatest golfer to ever live. He hasn't won since 2008 and it's highly questionable if he'll win 1 more, let alone 5 to break the record.

Yeah, but I figure they honoured the existing contract rather than give him a payout for terminating it early.

I think this is true, otherwise he would've been canned after the scandal.
