I like how Polaroid has to make TVs now. I saw one at Shopko today. I don't know at what point Polaroid started losing market share but I imagine it had more to do with disposable cameras than anything else. I don't remember seeing a lot of Polaroids in the late 90s, and I do remember people still using traditional cameras even during the days of Photobucket and MySpace. Were Polaroid cameras just more expensive or what happened there?

Polaroid name has been on non camera products for over a decade now.
I even have Polaroid AA batteries sitting on my desk here.
Also i had one polaroid digital camera. It sucked.

"Analog" cameras went from the norm(primarily due to the huge lack of convenience) to a niche market in much the same way vinyl and more recently compact disc players did. You can still get records, CDs and discman but given equally(or lower priced) priced more user friendly convenient alternatives why would the average consumer want to?

Anyways if you do some digging regardless of the subject (art, music, print, etc) the "philes" of the genre have always noted that digital is of a lower quality standard. They pay astronomical amounts for "new old" technology that captures nuances that digital supposedly can't. You can literally spend thousands of dollars on a record player set up for example.

If the price of GBA SPs spike in the near future, it's because I've cornered the market.

And now, a proposal to SirPsycho: after reading your blog about the five best and worst examples of video game box art, you should follow it up with the best and worst examples of video game strategy guide art. And I have a prime example of one of the worst:

How many horribly off-model video game characters knock-offs on that cover do you recognize?

Ha, the ninja does look bored.

Picked this up from Goodwill for 7.00 today

BTW, its up for trade/sale if anyone cares

I also picked up Ace Combat Zero, been a big fan of these game, and never played these one. Plus I love playing Action/Flight Sim games.

In addition I downloaded Ace Combat Infinity from the PSN store, it was fun until I realized it was one of those pay to play type games, You have to pay actual money for fuel refills or wait three hours real time for free refills. Unless I am missing something this seems to be the only way to play the game repeatedly and play online. has anyone played this game?

I used some Best Buy gift cards to get myself 2 more Wii U games.  There is obviously only one platform I could get Duck Tales Remastered on.

Picked this JCPenney Pong Console up for 7.99 at the Local Goodwill. I can't seem to find info on it though. Also it does not seem to be in the database, at least I could not find it. It says JCPenney on the middle controls. On the back it says it was manufactured by Phoenix.  If anyone can find info about it, please let me know.

My find felt a little bitter sweet because I missed out on a CIB Donkey Kong Game & Watch for 5.00, that somebody had put on hold only a few minutes before I got to the thrift store. Sad   My only hope is it went to someone who actually cares about it.

Still though very happy about my find, since these Pong Consoles are rare finds in the wild.

@nick: Awesome finds, Always liked the look of the Original Sega CD Model

Looks to me like a rebranded VS-1 from Venture Electronics.  Here's a pic http://mediaarchaeologyla...tronics%20game%20consoles

Very much so, thanks for the info. I also saw a database entry on here for a Pong console made by Phoenix which I think it might be.

I guess it could have been rebranded by Phoenix & JCPenney's, it so weird how something like this today, would be unheard of with video games.
