Picked up Monster Hunter Tri 3 from Ebay, brand new.  The box was a bit beat up.  They wanted $39 plus $9 to ship.  Ended up getting it for $39 (he ate the shipping cost).  I really wanted it for the controller so my kids can play Smash Brothers together because the Virtual Console one will only let you play with the classic controllers.  Classic controllers were going for around $30 so I thought this was a nice alternative.  Now the Skylanders I found at a Salvation Army in MN for $3 each.  I get home and look them up and apparently they they are the "rare" Frito Lay Variations?  Is that true??  They seem to go for $25 to $40 online!  I may have to take a day trip back to MN....

Jealous of the Monster Hunter Tri Bonus Edition - I sadly just have the standard edition.  But overall awesome grabs Shaggy!

My brother's scores of the day - Yes PC games haha

-Act of War: Direct Action
-Atari Revial - Nice to go with the Atari Anniversary Edition (one is the big box and the other is small box)
-Gore: Ultimate Soldier - Another Dreamcatcher game to scratch off the list
-XIII
-Tropico Mucho Macho Edition
-Where In the America's Past Is Carmen Sandiego?
-Escape From Monkey Island - Sealed
-The Ultimate Might & Magic Archives
-SimPark
-Star Trek New Worlds
-Star Wars: Battle For Naboo
All of the Jewel Case games I wish we there in the big box! So if anyone sees them CIB I'm sure we could work something out.

@Zag - Did you try Splatterhouse? A lot of PS3 games aren't region locked. It may work, and it is a fun game.

The only real major release I can think of that was locked was Persona.

Cool, good to know. I must say, I was rather surprised that G*meSt*p bought a non-NTSC game for resale, but now... well, not so much.

The eventual wide release of the Quick Draw Rattle Shake was the reason I no longer participate in the Frito-Lay promotions. Freakin' jerkoffs...  Angry

Meanwhile, I took full advantage of my day off to do a cross-county New year's Goodwill run:

Gracious me, just what kinds of amazing goodies could be hidden in all those cases?! Let's find out...

I found a PAL Copy(from the UK) of Die Hard Vendetta for the Gamecube once by mistake(no idea why it was in a Pawnshop in the middle of Iowa)

I also have a Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh game for the GBA and some weird bootleg version of Duel Masters that's branded as a DVD(and was sold as such by Gamestop back when they had DVDs) but has PS2 system info on the back.

All I've grabbed since my last post was Uncharted 3(in a steelbook) because I really liked the first two and figured I'd go ahead and play the third as well.

Yes, I bought two of the King Kong [Limited Collector's Edition]. They both have art cards and they're shiny... Roll Eyes
Decided I might as well buy LittleBigPlanet.

They didn't have the other half of the "Rockstar Games Double Pack: Grand Theft Auto".
R: Racing doesn't have the manual.

Spotted this on the path while walking into town. It was still there when I came back, so I took it.
If it works, then this could be useful.  Smiley

you definately live in Europe because I've never seen a TV here in the U.S. that had a SCART input. it even has VGA. I wish they made TVs that had all those inputs and comb filters over here so that I didn't have to use an upconverter

Hey everyone! First Big score of 2015 goes to a trade my brother made and a little trip my brother and his friend Chris made.  I have been at work lately and on New Years Eve I went to the ER because I thought I was having a stroke sure enough I found out I have some nerve damage on my left side from something that was building up from my old job which was causing severe problems with my Sciatica which I also got from my old job.  So now I get to do Physical therapy and take medicine to heal the damaged nerves. SO way to start 2015.  BUT this will make up for it.

My good friend Scott and my brother did a little sneaky trade without me knowing so I can be surprised!  We had an extra copy of Ducktales 2 sitting around that my brother got from his boss at work for $0 and Scott has been wanting that game for a long time so my brother was on a little vacation and sat down with him on Skype and the came up with this today - I knew a few things were coming because I had him hold them for me for a trade later but he decided what the heck.

The things I knew were:
-Loadstar - Sega CD
-Microcosm - Sega CD
-Stellar-Fire - Sega CD
-Last Gladiators - Saturn (Case Upgrade)
-NFL QB Club 96 - Saturn (Case Upgrade)
-Ten Pin Alley - Saturn (Case Upgrade)
-Worldwide Soccer - Saturn (Case Upgrade)

The Things I didn't know about - there were a lot and two awesome surprises!! Everything is in mint condition including the stuff previously mentioned.
-Disney Story Studio Mulan - PS1
-Tecmo World Cup Golf - PS1
-Street Fighter Collection - PS1
-Heroes of Might & Magic - PS2
-Rainbow Six Lockdown - GameCube
-Rise of Nightmares - Xbox 360 Kinect
-Blackjack/Poker - ColecoVision
-Max Payne 2 - BradyGames Guide

THEN the surprises -
-Front Loading Sega CD for the Original Model Genesis - SO Awesome!!
and
-King Arthur & The Knights of Justice!! Both in Mint Condition so awesome!!
After opening the package and seeing that at the bottom I thought I was actually going to have a stroke or heart attack!

Scott is so awesome! I wish I could get him on here but hes more of a seller than a collector now - basically he's my eyes and ears while I am back in Iowa until I hopefully someday after college move back to Florida..but I am comfortable with my job now so that could be a while (still in school though).

Then my brother went out with his friend Chris today and came home with some awesome goodies! He hit up Goodwill and Salvation Army again today oh and Gamers.  I didn't go because I still can't barely move...but sadly I need rest as I go back to work tomorrow.

Stuff they got:
-StarCraft Battlechest - Big Box
-World of Warcraft Battlechest - Need to find a better copy of this.
-Primal Rage - PC - Complete
-Jack Nicklaus 4 in a weird DVD Case version of it..he got it because A. It's a PC game and B. Weird case
-Rainbow Six 3 Gold Edition - Brand New
-Major League Baseball 2K9 - PC
-Alter Echo - Xbox - Complete
-Tom Clancy's Classic Trilogy - Xbox - Brand New Sealed!!
-MVP Baseball 2004 - GameCube
-Bass Rise - PS1
-Gravis Elminator - PC Controller CIB

Guides:
-Bard's Tale - Prima Guide
-Fire Emblem (Actually game from Chris - Free) - Upgrade to ours
-Oni - Prima Guide
-Onimusha Blade Warriors - Brady Guide
-Quake 64 - Prima Guide

Know the feeling Nick - just got prescribed muscle relaxers due to muscle spasms, that are occurring due to encephalitis and an old injury to my neck from Target. Going for an MRI  in a couple weeks to see if it's arthritic or damaged.

Retail sucks.

Starting off the year with this, courtesy of the generosity of our very own Slackur:

After my mentioning that I didn't get a VMU with my recent Dreamcast pickup, he messaged me and offered to send me one.  I was very surprised to not only see the VMU, but also two CIB games: Crazy Taxi, which I absolutely love, and Tony Hawk Pro Skater, which I've sank hours upon hours into on the Playstation version.  The Christmas card was also great and really appreciated.  For about the hundredth time, thank you very, very much Slackur.

Then, there was my 65,000th trip to Goodwill:

The Bop It!: Tetris game is still being sold brand new at places like Walmart and K-Mart for around 20 - 25 dollars, so finding it unopened for only $3.99 was really cool.  The Disney plug-n-play is the latest addition to the plug-n-play collection that I never knew I was gonna start when I began hardcore collecting several years ago, and was 3 bucks.  It works just fine, though the games are pretty obviously directed at kids, so they're way too easy for a going-on 33 year old man who's been gaming for approximately 30 of those years.

Another thrift store find, this time at Teen Challenge.  The Nintendo DS case was only a buck, and looks practically brand new and unused.  The thing above it is a light and screen magnifier for Game Boy Color, which works great and was only 50 cents.  The Racing Mania is complete, with all six games present and blemish-free, and was 2 bucks.

I scratched another pretty rare NES title off my list with the discovery of R.C. Pro-Am II at Gaming Grounds for $59.95.  There is a little label damage on the top left and top-front left, but it's pretty minor.  The Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes came along with it for $14.95, and has a flawless label.  I remember loving the movies as a kid, and was really excited when my dad rented it for us.  Of course, I was let down by how lackluster of a game it was and actually forgot about its existence until recently.

Finally, the biggest pickup so far this year, 2 days in:

This lot was a Craigslist find, from a former collector who was getting rid of much of his collection and keeping only what he intended to play.  I've been wanting to get started collecting Famicom/Super Famicom carts, and I think this is a pretty good start.  As far as I can tell, all of the Super Famicom games are sports titles, but since I can't read Japanese, some of them are mysteries to me as to their titles.  The ones that most interested me are the two Fire Pro Wrestling titles, since I really love wrestling and wrestling games.  There's also the 5 original Famicom carts, with all but one of them CIB.  One looks to be a Mahjong game, two are obviously baseball titles, and I was told the other two are Romance Of The Three Kingdoms II and III.  There are a total of 112 carts, with a total of 44 unique titles among the Famicom and Super Famicom carts - 5 Famicom, and 39 Super Famicom.  The GamePro mags aren't in the best of shape, with most missing their covers, and the one with the Incredible Hulk on the cover missing the advertised NBA Jam poster.  They span December 1992 - February 1994.  I also really like the Street Fighter II/GamePro 4th Anniversary poster that was in with them.  I ended up getting the entire lot for a grand total of $60.

This is probably gonna be the last major pickup I make for a while, because I'm needing to save up to replace the junk heap of a vehicle I'm currently driving with a more reliable one, so if I do any game hunting, it's gonna be little things.  This stuff I just posted was my big splurge before tightening the belt.  I'll still be around, but not posting much, if anything, as far as pickups are concerned.
