Picked this up over the weekend:

The awkward moment when your wife says she's seen that hat before, only to realize she saw it on Facebook first.

Very cool, dude!  Every day will be something new.  My boy is 6 months old and sprouting little razor teeth.  Enjoy every minute!

Oh no, it's... Bickman2k1!

I can just see it: 20 years from now he, WildBil53, and the Tynstar Twins will have the run of this place. They'll become... the Next Gen of RFGen! Or they'll all rebel against papa's gaming fanaticism and join the Amish. Either way, it should prove highly entertaining.

Anyhoo, congrats to y'all for all the recent hauls you've scored. I topped off my September hunts with some relatively modest pickups:

- Five Strategy & Game Development guides, $10 for the lot

- Pack of 10 Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force styluses (stylii?), $0.99

- Packaged Mattel Classic Basketball handheld, $3.99

- PlayStation spiral notebook-binder thingy, $1.59

- Sealed Swap Force Roller Brawl figure: been trying to complete my Swap Force collection before Trap Team drops. Barring a few miracles, it's not gonna happen.  Sad

Picked up this lot of mostly CIB games for about $32.00 all told:

- Mario Party 8

- New Super Mario Bros. U

- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
with "Interactive Arts & Sciences Fighting Game of the Year for 2008-09" cover seal

- Mario Kart Wii

- Metroid Prime

- Mario Superstars baseball
(no manual}

- Kirby Air Ride (no manual)

- Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows (no manual)

- KotOR II for PC (time to update your tally card, Shadzy  Wink)

Slightly inspired by WildBil's Dust Off Your DOS Box blogs-- and mostly inspired by the fact that they were dirt cheap-- I picked up these two almost-CIB boxed PC games for just $2.50 each:

Also discovered was an oddball peripheral:

Yeesh. I know that a CIB item is more desirable than a loose one, but I think this might be the exception that proves the rule.

That greasy, smushed up box contains the Action Stick, which supposedly allows the player to use actual fighting moves to play his fave PS1 and PS2 fighting and rhythm games. Kind of a proto-Kinect if you will. Though hopefully it'll work a little better than that... but I have my doubts.

Oh wait, Andrew Dragon Dice Clay has a statement to make:

Hey! Why don'cha work a little action on THIS stick! OH!!! Just STICK it right up--

--Errr, thank you, Dice, thank you. *COUGH* Sorry 'bout that, folks. I really should know better by now.

This is as good a time as any to wind things up. But first, take a gander at this non-vidya gaming pickup:

All right, back to you.

WHOAH! ZAG!  You are speaking so many of my languages with that last post.  Glad to have a hand in the DOS inspiration but I can't take the credit, I just play the games and write the words.

Seriously though, Wing Commander 4 is great (and you aren't the only rfgenner who will be scoring that this month)

...foreshadowing...

And Twilight Imperium is one big bowl of awesome.  It takes a long time to set up and play, especially if you have more than a few new players but it's a fantastic game made even better by the Shattered Empire Expansion.  Let me know if you ever want to play over Skype...Or maybe not, as that would take days.

Well, at least you let me in on how I can play those older PC games on my modern laptop. Until that revelation, I despaired at ever playing many of the big-boxed titles I've collected over the past few years.

It's the third boxed Wing Commander PC game I've found over the last few months, along with III and Gold-Edition Prohecy. Sadly, my copy of IV is missing the quick-reference cards, falling a little short of CIB glory. I'm sure there's a downloadable online PDF for them somewhere, though.

I figured it was worth the $9 I paid for it... but, my God, does it have a lot of playing pieces, markers, cards, etc. No wonder it takes an eternity just to set up. How is my notoriously short attention span and extreme lack of patience gonna get any enjoyment from playing this? And you say there's an expansion? Great, even more parts to potentially lose. Fortunately, after doing a full count of the components-- which took me almost two hours-- it looks like everything is there. But, being the paranoid worrywart that I am, I'll be doing a recount real soon...

So I grabbed all of this at the local bi-annual flea market about a month ago, but I'm just getting around to posting pics.  That's just how it goes I guess.

These were all $1 a piece.  I got them from the same vendor that I bought 30 or so other PC games from the flea market that was in the spring.  I left behind a bunch of jewelcase only gamers, but if she still has them come the spring flea market, I might just offer her a couple of bucks to take those too.

Random PS2/Xbox/PS3 games.  I only paid 2 or 3 bucks for each of these except for the Jampack and MTV game.  Those were 50 cents a piece.

Here's some stuff everyone can enjoy.  The NES games were $3 a piece.  I've wanted to get my hands on Godzilla for a while so I was pretty happy to grab it for that cheap.  The O^2 games we're 4 for $10.  One of these days I've really got to finish off that collection.  I'm over half way there and I already have Power Lords, so I can probably finish off the set for under $200.

And finally I got these odd things

That's the complete set of Nintendo GamePak stickers.  They didn't have any of the scratch off cards, but I can live with just the stickers.  Maybe I'll find the scratch offs some other day.  As for the cleaning kit, I haven't seen an un-opened one of these in 15 years.  It was $1 and worth every single penny just for the nostalgia value alone.

And that's it until I get pictures of all of the stuff I've picked up since then.  Given my track record, I'll have them up in a month and a half.

There are a few of us on the boards that collect INTV. I think Tynstar's been trying to pick some back up again.
