Would it make anybody feel better if I mentioned that somebody locally scored 2 copies of EB at the same garage sale in a box they paid $30 for?

I passed 650 NES games with this latest batch. I feel like I've been pretty lucky in finding the last handful of games locally. Before long there won't be any cheap ones left.

I also reached 80 SNES games today. But that's not as exciting.

.....OR IS IT?

Greetings from Terra,

Seems like everyone's been really cleaning up around here lately. Makes my recent stack of scores look lame in comparison... which I'll get to in a bit.

But first:

I'm going to start stalking Zagnorch and Techie to figure out where all these goodies are hiding.

No need to go to such extreme measures, my good man; you're more than welcome to ride shotgun on one of my cross-county thrift runs. You just might be fortunate enough to dig up a find like this:

And now I'll turn it around to show you how much it set me back:

Now some of you are likely saying to yourselves, Oh for the love of Polybius, not another goddamned graphing calculator score. Well, if you don't dig it, just scroll down a little to check out my recent vidya pickups. See you down there in a moment...

Now the rest of you are probably thinking, $3.49 for a graphing calculator that retails for $100+? That HAS to be a mistake, right? And you would be correct: at ringup, the cashier realized it was waaay underpriced, and took it to the back to find out what the deal was. She came back a few minutes later, stating that a new trainee mispriced it, but let me have it for that price 'cuz the mistake was their fault. I thanked her and told her I'd show my gratitude by frequenting the place more often.

Speaking of calculators:

Once I heard on a podcast that Zagnorch makes his small scores posts like a magazine article.....

I'm aiming for a novella with this post. Small Scores inspires me to channel my inner narcissist and natter on incessantly about my thrift pickups, regardless of whether you find them interesting or not.

Speaking of Zagnorch......

And now, I present a non-vidya pickup to calm a certain concerned RF Gentleman who PMed me a few weeks ago asking me why I hadn't been showing off any small scores lately.

This one's for you, Nupoile:

Found 'em all in one place. Twenty smackers for the bunch.
That is a pretty awesome price but it's sad you are just going to sell them and make a bunch of money when you should keep them and calculate all sorts of fantastic numbers.**

Gotta pay for the gas I burn on my thrift runs somehow. And those Not-So-Secret Santa gifts aren't gonna ship themselves for free. Besides, there's only one graphing calculator I'm keeping... which I'll reveal momentarily.

All right, let's do this:

- The GameCube titles were $2.39 each. Namco Museum 50th Anniversary is sealed, the rest CIB.

- Red Steel and Ultimate Codes: Kingdom Hearts & Final Fantasy X, $3.19 each

- BradyGames Majora's Mask guide (no posters), $2.39: The 3D Legend of Zelda games are the only ones I know of that have gotten official guides from three different publishers (Prima, BradyGames, Nintendo Power), this one included. Surely, one has to be officialer than the others...  Huh

- Picked up CIB Viewpoint (PS1 Long case), Spyro Shadow Legacy (DS), and Heir of Zendor: Legend of the Land with some trade credit.

- Descent for PC and Excalibur flight simulator/aerial battle handheld, $1.59 ech

- Archie Sonic Universe V.1: The Shadow Saga TPB: Raze is gonna be spoiled rotten come yuletide this year.

- 18 Game Informer and 2 Nintendo Power back issues, $6.40

My best Nupe-gif yet. What can I say: you inspire me. Better behave yourself, though, lest I get tempted to take it into Rule 34 territory.

C'mere, you          Don't know if want

Aaaaand now, the capper: with gift card in hand, I hit the local Target to take advantage of their Skylanders Buy-2-Get-1 sale. Sadly, they didn't have any of the ones I needed, so I took advantage of their sale on this bad boy instead:

My favorite model TI graphing calculator, now with a color display?!  Shocked Pardon the expression, but... color me there!

There, I tried to make it all magazine/Zagnorch like. Looking back, this post looks all busy and full of needless stuff. Maybe its a Japanese magazine article...

Never thought you'd be so eager to carry on my RF Gen legacy... mainly 'cuz I figured you had far better things to do.

All righty, time to let someone else bore you to death with his insipid ramblings. And I'll try really, REALLY hard to not show off my calculator scores next time, pinky swear.

Nighters...

I never knew older model Graphing Calculators from 10 years ago would still fetch such a price...I never really see them, but if I do, I might pick 'em up and see what I can do with them. I can't stop thinking how cool it would have been if I was able to walk into college statistics class with that colored TI-84 at my disposal. Ha ha

I didn't realize I would have to read through three pages of posts on here missing three days of action...everyone has really been cleaning up! Namcomuseum 50th anniversary caught my eye as I have been searching for it myself for a while, very jealous of the the King of the Ring find on the NES (one of the few from my childhood I haven't found again), the MKII Cab find was rad, Salamander is really sweet looking for sure, Spotted that Wrestlemania Steel Cage challenge CIB too...which I had never seen before, and as for the Earthbound scores...well, I guess my wife's law of three's is proven true once again. (She seems to think when good or bad things happen, they always happen three at a time).

Today's findings warranted a little more space, so I made a quick blog post for the experience instead of taking even more space writing about that part of the story here. http://www.rfgeneration.c...l-my-own-Finally-2843.php

I finally was able to get out and do some picking myself today, between my new favorite store and three others, I spent just over $50 before tax. A lot more than I usually drop in one day, but wait until you see what I snagged.  leo Everything this store had in terms of sports games were a buck each, regardless of system or whether or not it was junkie like newer EA sports titles. I was able to snag a few GC sports titles I was missing for just a few bucks.

I messed with the settings for a while trying to get a decent pic, but getting the lighting right was difficult, as my phone's camera went to shit and stopped working and I had to use my wife's phone. For some reason, her flash is like a car's headlight and drowns all the plastic covered cases, and the resolution seems to suck.

First stop, a thrift store we had never been to called "Unique": I picked up the three GC Mario titles, Robotech, the three 3.5" floppy P.C. titles, Doom, Earthbound, and Zombies ate my neighbors for $30. Earthbound was $12 of that $30. (Knowing just how rare that game has become, it is one of my best snags since collecting).

Second stop, a really tiny thrift store mashed between a nail salon and a dispensary: Got the Dance Pad for a buck.

Third stop, Game Force: Not pictured are some Genesis games I snagged that I used to have as a kid, but were left in the trunk of the car: Wacky Worlds Creativity Studio with the Mega Mouse, Crystal's Pony Tail, A Dinosaur Story, and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine for $7 total.

Final stop, My new favorite mom-and-pop shop: Hydlide, Clash at Demonhead, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone were $3 each, (That Harry Potter game is actually pretty rare for a GC title, and I am happy to have it checked off my list as such a good deal), Amplitude, FIFA street 2, WWF in your house, ExciteBots, Transworld Surf, Freestyle Street Soccer, and the sweet Pokemon Black/White DS case were a buck each, and finally...Secret Service; of which there were about 30 copies behind the cases in a box, and were priced at a buck, but was given to me at no cost after a good laugh when sharing what I knew of the story of that particular game's infamy on our site. I still don't think I fully understand it though. Ha ha

Also, Hydlide was bought directly as a result of Bombatomba's blog post about it as I wouldn't have had a clue what it was and probably would have overlooked it without that knowledge, and Clash at Demonhead because of the reference to it in the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World movie.

Sometimes I think I have just about every sports game released.  Then I go to a local thrift when they change the 50% off color and find out they got 4000 new sports games in that I can't turn down for $1.50. Also kids games.

The Bureau I got from the Microsoft store for $6 brand new.  It got bad reviews, but I really want to play it simply because of the setting.  I've had this weird nostalgia for the 60's, a decade that I am at a minimum 12 years too young to have any nostalgia for.  I never said it was rational.

I also got these which are pretty much all a lot better.  The NES games were from Disc Replay and everything else was $3 each from thrifts.  Except for the books.  $3 would be ridiculous for books.  You knew that.

Baldur's Gate is Awesome.  That Comedy Collection game has 6 text adventure PC games on it, including Zork for some weird reason which should be fun to mess around with.  My favorite thing here though is Ultimate Air Combat.  I loved this game back when it first came out and kept it rented from the video store until they threatened to arrest my parents if we didn't return it.  I tried to buy it from Funcoland, but when it was available in the store, it was always something ungodly high like $60 used.  So I can't wait to fire this bastard up and see if it's as fun as I remember it being.

The final thing I got was this

That's a brand new copy of Star Trek:  A Final Unity Collectors Edition for the PC that I got for $5.  I love video games that come with extra shit so, so much.

Hello again,

Found a few things here and there:

- Pokemon Emerald Version and Sonic & Knuckles carts, $4.99 $3.99 each: The cashier who rung these up for me was ridiculously ecstatic when he saw what I'd found, he screamed like the teenage girls in those old newsreels of the Beatles' first visit to the U.S. it didn't help that he was wearing green-glitter-covered cat ears at the time.

- CIB Patapon, $6.29 $4.97

- Sealed Kingdom II: Shadoan for PC, $3.99

I also grabbed these guides for $20 all told:

Revolution Overdrive - Songs of Liberty (StarCraft 2) & WATCH_DOGS Vinyl Records 12" (30 cm)

Larger version: http://s25.postimg.org/b4..._Dogs_Vinyl_Large_Pic.jpg
Spoiler (hover to show)
This StarCraft 2 Vinyl contains 11 tracks from the jukeboxes in Joeyray's Bar and the Hyperion's Cantina.
The old look is actually the artwork doing a fake immitation of wear and tear, it's all 100% minty!

Pictures of the 2 bars from ingame:
HyperionCantina: http://images.wikia.com/s...antina_SC2-WoL_Story1.jpg
Joeyray's Bar: http://img3.wikia.nocooki...raysBar_SC-WoL_Story1.jpg

The StarCraft 2 Vinyl was available exclusively for a short time from the Blizzcon 2010 event in California USA.
I read some of the Vinyl’s later came on the Blizzard Store but sold out quickly.
Since this was made as a collector’s item, I think only a few hundreds was made.
It comes with an iTunes download card for the digital album with additional tracks.

Next up is the newly released Watch_Dogs Soundtrack on Vinyl with 13 tracks.
This is a 180gram (High Quality) Black Vinyl release pressed in just 750 numbers.
There is also another version on normal 140g quality as a blue Vinyl in 750 copies.
Both of them has a card to access the digital version of the Soundtrack.

Wow another Earthbound found on the cheap, I thought when I picked mine up a few years back for 50 bucks that was a good deal but those prices are crazy.
