Nice grab, shaggy. Glad to see you back here and posting!

Hey, thanks!  I just discovered the podcast, which got me back posting, plus I had surgery in July and been off of work since then.  For some reason I couldn't get the picture turned the right way so I said screw it!  It's going upside down.

We went to the coast today because it got up to 100 degrees at home. The coast is a hour away and it was 61 degrees. I should move there.....

After building castles in the sand but before laffy taffy, smoked salmon and walking on the boardwalk, we stopped at a thrift mall.

Rounding a corner, SNES games caught my eye. Expecting them to each cost $40 (as they tend to do at this sort of place) I pull one out, it's $5......and sealed.

Fortunately for me, I once tricked Retrorage into giving me his phone number so I can bother him with texts. This paid off nicely as I used that power to make sure I wasn't way off on what I figured these were worth, he told me a sealed Star Fox sold on ebay for $103, they wanted $15. So I got that one.

In the end, I bought all the games they had priced at $5 plus a few more. I left several priced at $10-$20 (all sealed)(don't worry, nothing that said mario or rpg). I spent a little over $90. These games are new and complete. The ones that are open, I don't think they've been played, ever. All papers seem to be there, things are still in plastic bags. Pretty neat.

Lock On
Turn and Burn
Madden
StarFox
.....are all sealed

The two GBA games are sealed too but the boxes are crushed, they were $3 each.

PM me if you want something, especially the sealed games and the Super Game Boy.

I WANT YOUR HEAD!!!!

I drove passed that damn store no more than a week ago.  I'll have a blog coming out soon about my trip down the Oregon coast and all the game shops along the way.

The Settlers Collection + Settlers 2 Remake PC

Spoiler (hover to show)
I think Settlers 1 and 2 were the Golden Age of Settlers (S3 wasn't bad either), so it almost pains me to see the developers make some rather mediocre Settlers games several years in a row now. They really need to sit down and play Settlers 1 and 2 again because that is where the soul is.

Heck if they simple did a remake of Settlers 1 using an upgraded and beautiful game engine, with a ton of small details all over the place, it would probably beat any of the Settlers games released in the last years.

I talked it over with my wife and she doesn't want to trade that away. Apparently we're still using it.....

So when is this blog coming out? You've been hinting at it for almost forever now. Have you been attending the nupoile school of putting-off-anything-to-do-with-writing-as-long-as-possible?

This is just about the craziest game I've played in recent memory...not bad though, barring a real trip to Japan. Smiley

@Redd - Didn't realize that was out already. Is it playable/fun or too stupid to be seriously enjoyed?

I have a saturn stick similar to those, the buttons on the saturn sticks all seem to be HUGE! That PS3 game makes me wonder exactly why the industry works the way it does, games that are crazy but sexual get the green light because sex sells, but great games from talented individuals and companies get turned down all the time because they don't pander to a specific crowd...Nice snags all around though!
