@GamerNick: Oregon trail! Growing up, that was our computer class in elementary school. We used to get in trouble for doing nothing but hunting.

@Razor: Mario on the 5200!?!? Sweet...Plus, in the screenshot identifying forum, we just did a gungriffon game...so ironic that we see stuff more once it is brought up. Great finds!

The Turrican Soundtrack Anthology” by Chris is another Amiga musician that made a successful kickstarter. I posted the CD’s of it earlier, so check it out if you missed it.

Judging from your soundtrack scores, you're really into music...

...and your RFGen handle is "TheBoss."

Bruce Springsteen, is that you?!  Shocked

ANYway, I don't have a whole lot to show for my thrift run today... but I'll show you anyway.

- Prima Tomb Raider Secrets and Suikoden II guides, $1.99 each

- Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (no manual) and sealed PSP port-plug set & combo USB power/data transfer cable, $3.99 for both: Each item was $3.99, but I didn't realize the clerk forgot to ring one of them until I got home and looked at the receipt.

And now, I'd like to show you my first score of a board game based on a "classic arcade game" I've never heard of before:

If I hadn't glimpsed the SEGA logo on the front of the box as I passed by the games and puzzles shelf, I  wouldn't have given it a second look. It's a fairly beat up and stained in spots, but is complete.

My favorite part is the pic on the back of the box, which places the game's release-date range between the mid-'70s and early '80s:

Aaaand finally, I'd like to show you something I considered buying:

Yet another Miracle Piano, for PC this time 'round. It was the third Miracle Piano I've encountered in the last six months. After looking at the box that featured extensive water damage and staining, and realizing I had almost no free space available at home to shove this into, I decided to let this one go. Looks like Duke's hunt for a foot pedal will continue; sorry 'bout that, bud.

You wouldn't happen to know if a PC Miracle Piano foot pedal would work on the NES model? If so, I could be tempted to hit that Goodwill again after work to see if it's still there...  Wink

Yep, since I've found the harder to find 32X games for cheap I've gone down the route of collecting all the games for the system, well at least the carts. I'll get all the weird CD-32X games CIB as I go on since I hate loose CD based games. Anyways, I am collecting the harder stuff first to make things more easy as I go on collecting.

Here's what I've got over the past couple of weeks.  First stuff from thrifts and what not

Bandfuse is really the coolest thing in this picture.  It was $10 at Gamestop and I got it simply because they included a song by Lynch Mob which is one of my favorite hair bands of all time.  If I don't buy it because they are in it, who will.

Then  Disc Replay went and opened up 2 miles away from me.  Disc Replay is my favorite retro game store on the planet and before they opened this one, the nearest one to me was over an hour away.  I've been going a bit nuts.

This is only about half of what I've got from there so far, but I haven't taken pictures of the other stuff yet.  It's been amazing to have a store near me that actually has Dreamcast games to buy again.

I don't even understand how people could still order porn on physical media if they have broadband internet.

After all...

These were burned CDRs full of .wmv clips with hand written names. Interestingly (or not), they used 2 different brands of disc.

Come on, tell Uncle Zags what you saw... don't be ashamed...

Well, as soon as I saw the thumbnails appearing, I ejected the disc... I think one of the thumbnails showed a girl bending over with her butt near the camera.
I've handed the discs over to my mum (she put the order through for me). She'll do the complaining to CEX.

Good.

Now I just want you to know that you absolutely did the right thing. Just remember that none of this is your fault, and you shouldn't be made to feel bad about the situation; it was none of your doing whatsoever. I'm confident you'll get past this brief yet horrific moment in your life, and come out of it a better person.

Damn, I gotta get my ass out on the motivational lecture circuit. Eat your heart out, Tony Robbins!
