I hate it when I see that. A Playstation or controller rolled up in 6 different directions with packing tape...

How about the PlayStation rolled up in packing tape, sold separately in the glass case while the controller is on a random shelf in housewares with the cord wrapped around it and taped, and the power cable and video cord tossed in the random wire bins?

In CEX (The place most of my disc games come from), they keep discs and manuals behind the counter.
I HATE when they try to put Platinum discs in a regular case and vice versa... They're mostly like "Oh, there's no difference...".

Although lately, they're better at putting the correct discs in.

You don't have the "shake check" figured out yet?
You should be able to hear the disc, and manual without opening a box. If you are really good sometimes you can figure out how many manuals/leaflets are in the box.
I actually did predict that based on weight but decided to get it anyway. My point that it's inconvenient still stands though!

Did you pick those up from Goodwill? 'Cuz all the stores in the Goodwill of Silicon Valley system are starting taping up the cases with the games and inserts inside, instead of taking the game discs out and placing them in a binder at the checkout counter. I always ask the checker to open the case up so i can see how the contents look before I make my purchase.
It was a church based thriftshop. I actually do have an actual Goodwill around me that I still need to check out. Talking to the clerk at checkout is a good idea. I do this at my local pawn when a case is busted and want to switch out. They know me so well by now that they'll tell me to just grab something from the glass display when I need to.

Forgot to post this earlier but a package for my brother from our very own Wildbil came the other day...clearly its for my brother as it is big boxed PC games ;-) Although I hate to admit I am starting to like some of these boxes.

And I decided to show the soundtracks we got over the years - we took a huge break on these as some are getting pricey.

Yeah I think there is a Super Mario 64 one as well and a Donkey Kong 64 one.  They are kind of hard to find I just found those two by luck.

Those are awesome soundtracks you have as well I really like all the ones you are posting!  I bought the Fernando one because it was my favorite and it reminded me mostly of the music from Miami Vice (I am a huge fan of the 80's not just in video games but movies, tv shows, music, cartoons, everything....well but cocaine lol)

Keep up the great posts your making me wish I had more money to get some soundtracks!

I was never big on game soundtracks before, but thanks to all the soundtrack talk, I jumped on the bandwagon when I picked this up for $3.99:

But that was but one pickup in the luckiest Friday the 13th I've ever had, as I hit nine thrifts after work, seven of which yielded something:

- Sealed Pokemon Black Version 2, $5.99

- Talking Computron, $4.99: This thing needs major clean-up. I sure hope it works.

- Tiger Mega Man 2 and Star Trek TNG  handhelds, $3.99 for both

It was also a great day for CIB PC game pickups:

- People's General, $5.99 $4.73

- Diablo Battle Chest collection, $3.99

- Unreal Gold collection, $3.99

- Forgotten Realms: Neverwinter Nights Collector's Edition box set, $5.99

I also grabbed this lot of vidya and non-vidya goodness at the local Savers, which set me back just under $18.00 with the help of a discount savings pass:

- CIB Crysis 2 and Dragon Age II for 360

- CIB Crimson Skies and Morrowind GOTY for XBox

- FASA Star Trek the Role-Playing Game starter set

- GDW Space 1889: Sky Galleons of Mars set

- Super Speak & Math School Edition: way cooler than its lame-ass regular-edition counterpart.

But who would I be if I didn't also reveal my latest calculator scores:

- TI-83 Plus, $6.49

- HP 12C, $1.99

- TI BA-II Plus, $2.49

But if you think those calculators were awesome, prepare to park your peppers on this pickup:

The X-Cool: finally, the gap between gamin' and calculatin' has been bridged.

Just check out these ON/OFF shoulder buttons:

There's no better way to figure out your high scores...

I prefer my bland, standard Speak & Spell. As for the X-Cool, they could've found a better place for Clear and = - I feel I'd keep mashing those.

I remember paying 120ish for my TI-83Plus that was REQUIRED for high school. We never used the cool functions but I did use it to cheat. Woulda been fine with a regular cheapo calc.
