Leave it to the EXPERT (srsly guys, I do this for a living):

1) In the off state, press the Power button and hold it. It'll beep once for it turning on, and then beep once for it turning off.
2) Repeat the same process...except this time, it'll beep once for turning on, and then beep 3 times. This'll restore it to default settings.

Wow. I didn't know you could basically brick a system with something as simple as different settings for video output. I wonder how many people think it is more severe and trade it in or sell it with minor problems. I might just unpack my PS3 that's been in storage for 5 years and see if I can resolve whatever is wrong with it.

i wouldn't call it "bricked" but for anyone without much experience troubleshooting consoles or computers, or just unaware of the PS3's way of doing things, it could easily seem like something worse than it actually is. my motto for anything electronic is "when in doubt, try a different cable"

I would only think to try a different cable if I thought the output or cable I was using was damaged. Then again, working in the pay-TV industry for most of my adulthood, that type of troubleshooting is burned into my head, and there definitely aren't any settings to customize an output flow permanently.

Like I said, I'm an expert with a PS3. I've had to configure and troubleshoot dev kits for 5 years, including having to memorize switching from NTSC to PAL (576i isn't exactly supported by most US TVs, so it's all navigating blind until it can be switched to HD). It's been a while, but it's basically printed into the back of my skull.

EDIT: The changing region thing was before our group had access to the dev tools, when the console was first launching. It's no where near that difficult now. Wink

I've "fixed" a bunch of my friends' PS3s just by doing the manual video output setting reset.  I'm sure a big portion of "broken" PS3s are just the video output.

More racing games!

Nat Geo Quiz!: Wild Life is Sealed, this was in Poundland.
They also have loads of these sealed: "Get Fit With Mel B (PS3)", "Disney Sing It: Pop Party (PS3)", "Dood's Big Adventure (Wii)" and "Nat Geo Quiz!: Wild Life (Wii)".
The seal isn't a rip strip one, but more like shrink wrap.
Some also have a holographic sticker on them saying "DEST. VENDITA NOLEG. VIETATO" and "LEADER S.P.A.".

Total Club Manager 2005 is box only, they couldn't find the disc.
I wanted the case as a replacement, but now realise it's an EA branded case. It also has what seems to be the original seal inside in pretty much perfect condition.

Went out to a garage sale this weekend found some old board games like Sub Search, and Aegean Strike. Great Finds for my board game collection.

But I found something else which was an old Mac ww2 flight game called Bomber by Rene Vidmer. Unfortunately the game was nowhere to be found, but was able to get a kinda beat of box, the headset, and instruction booklet for a very low price.  I don't collect PC stuf, but I know some of you do, so if you are interested in buying it off of me, let me know.

I got this in the mail today:

It may LOOK like an NES Game...

But in reality...

He is an Action Figure! He remains sealed indefinitely.

Hey now,

Just picked this up a little while ago:

It has the manual and both discs in excellent condition.

And I'll be more than happy to reveal what I paid for it...

...but first you must promise me you won't get mad after I show you.

Do we have a deal?

CEX (The place where most of my games are coming from) has that for £35.00 (~$58.81). I saw it while in there yesterday. eBay has it cheaper though.

I will guess $9.95, considering the price tag behind it. If not, $4.95?

I love those NECA game themed figures. I still would like to get the Jason figure at some point.
