Turns out, it was a good move, though there is some bad with the good.

It was only much later that I noticed that these were PAL versions.
Nothing wrong with PAL versions.

Phantasy Star 2, and Valkyrie Profile for PSP and the Mario Party 5 were from Game Quest. The three SNES games: Blackthorne, MMX, and Top Gear 2 were from a local seller. The pink cast on Katchoo was courtesy of a local vet.
What happend to Katchoo? Also great grabs on the games :-)

Last weekend was the big bi-annual outdoor flea market near me and I kind of got a lot. Like, shit my arms hurt from carrying all of these bags a lot. If I include prices for everything I'll be here all day, so I'll just say that everything in the pictures below cost me a total of $80. Beware, here thar be pictures:

I know I said something about prices already, but I just had to mention that No More Heroes 2 was brand new and only cost $5, and Call of Duty Black Ops was $1.25.

That DVD is a 5 disc set covering the 2005 E3 show. I didn't even know this was a thing, but God damn this should be fun to watch.

That shit's boss.
Finally, all of these PC games were $1 a piece.

Man do I have some scanning to do.
Awesome grabs Sauza - My brother just picked up Robert E. Lee Civil War - Also he is very jealous of the big box PC games ;-)

A long day of garage sales only landed a few things, but i'm not disappointed about it.

All at 1 sale. $2 each.
Pokemon Red, Blue ,Yellow, Silver, and Crystal.
Zelda DX and Seasons.
Mega Man, Dr. Wily's Revenge.
Dragon Warrior 1 and 2.
Warioland 4.
R-Zone.

Found this at second to last sale of the day. Box is a little rough around the edges. $15

Thanks Joe Turner! Don't know who you are but you finished off a slow day nicely.
I have no need or want for another R-zone, but I am jealous at the luck you had finding all those Pokémon games for so cheap. People know there is still demand for Pokémon and I haven't seen them for less than 25 anywhere around here.

When you turn on the system hold the power button until it beeps. (5-10 seconds)
Should reset the video settings.
I'll give that a try Izret. It says it's not even getting a signal though, so we'll see.

It was a pretty tough day at the yard sales today. I was convinced that I wouldn't even see a video game all day, when I decided to take a peek at the permanent yard sale across the street from my place. Turns out, it was a good move, though there is some bad with the good.
As I was walking away, I decided to take one last look around, when I saw these two games:

It was only much later that I noticed that these were PAL versions.
The good news is that, spotting those 2 games helped me find these two games (the latter being my best yard sale find in two years of doing this):

This is actually my second copy of Ikaruga, but how could I ever pass up this game for $5? This find got my collecting juices flowing again after a bit of a lull.
Since I started collecting, completing a GC set has been my main goal. I got as many of the rarer ones as I could while they were still somewhat common to see, but I never have seen an Ikaruka. Great find!

it's probably saying that because it's trying to send signal through a different video output than you have hooked up. like for example if it was set to use HDMI only for the previous owner, and you tried to run it on Component, it wouldn't show anything on screen unless you first hooked up it with HDMI then changed the settings to use Component. i didn't know there was a way to reset video options like izret suggested though, as far as i know holding the power button until it beeps is just the normal shutdown procedure isn't it? if his idea doesn't work i'd suggest trying it with all the different video output options until you find one that's working, then change the video settings on the system to be the one you want it to use.

When initially turning the system on hold the power button for the extended period. Not when the system is already on. Sorry for being unclear. Should work since you made no mention of a YLOD. If it doesn't (maybe every PS3 doesn't work that way?) just do what tech suggested and start plugging in all different kinds of video plugs.

Nope, there's a icon in the far left menu of the XMB to turn it off. Alternatively, hold the PS button and select "Turn off the system".

when you press the button to turn it on, you hold it until it beeps twice. it will then ask if you want to keep the hdmi settings on the screen (if that was the problem)
