Metal Gear Rising is from Leaptrade. Neo Contra was picked up at a garage sale by a coworker and is up for sale/trade.

My local Savers consistently treats me well. Smiley

Was all that in together? Something's not right here....

Both my local Savers have the habit of throwing a bunch of supposedly related stuff into a bag, and selling it as a set. 'Course, if I were to encounter the same bag of goodies Mr. Slowman discovered, it'd most likely be priced at least twice the amount he paid. Which would still be pretty good when considering the resale value of the Pokemon Blue cart.

Ironically, the local Savers also has the habit of taking home consoles and selling the components separately. For example, the Savers nearest me has a PS1 for $9.99, which comes with the AV and power cable, but no controllers. However, hanging from some pegs not five feet away are a couple PS1 controllers, each with a $3.99 price tag. Another time I found a GameCube console that came with a memory card and Wavebird received for $5.99, but they were asking $3.99 for the power cable on a shelf in a separate section of the store..

Despite these frustrations, however, I rather enjoy the thrill of the hunt at both my local Savers. It doesn't hurt that many of the folks working there are consistently friendly and helpful. When I fell ill and kept myself indoors for several days, several of them noticed my absence, and let me know they were worried about me. When you've got people like that working there, I'm more than happy to throw down a few extra shekels than I'm usually willing to pay for that coveted addition to my stack. It's the best way to repay good service and courtesy...

My Savers does the whole "splitting up home consoles" thing too and it's mildly annoying.  I picked up a Wii maybe 20 pages back in this thread and I'm still piecing a complete Wii together.  All I need is a Wiimote now. :p

I do like my Savers too, very friendly and helpful employees at mine too.  I especially appreciate Savers because they're the only thrift store around me that doesn't just throw all their good stuff online, so going into the store is actually worth my time more often than not.

@Duke: Congrats! It must be nice to cross that one off your list.

Once again I find myself falling behind. My wife broke her foot so I've been very busy of late. Here are some delayed photos.

This computer was free. It is great for Win98 and plays old games without any issues. I've been using it to play some Doom 2 and Descent.

Here's part one of items I found in boxes from storage:

Space Quest...................*drool*. I loved playing that series with my friend as a kid. Did you find this stuff in your personal storage, or did you purchase a storage unit?

@singlebanana: It's from my personal storage. I'm finally clearing out the unit and opening up the boxes. The Space Quest series is one of my favorites as well. I finished all of the games in the series when I was younger. I wish I could find one of the misprinted SQ6 cds. There was a mix up at the factory when SQ6 was being pressed and several copies of Win95 were labeled as SQ6.

So ummm... do you think $20 for these...

...and a loose NFL Blitz 2001 N64 cart at the local Goodwill was a good deal?

Weird thing was, as I was walking into the place, I was thinking about how long it had been since I'd encountered any Sega Saturn games. This is how powerful my thrifting skills have become: I only need to think of something to will it into existence.

BTW there was one thing there I was really tempted to buy, but managed to resist:

Google says it's about £11.94. Not too bad.
Of course, that's only if I found them locally...

I'm honestly not sure if I could pass up that hat. Of course, I'd find a squid to equip it with.
