Found this at a Savers today for $3.99. Nothing special but at least it is a harder to find color and not a clear/opaque purple one. :p

Is the battery cover present? They're usually missing...
I found a Platinum one last week in a charity shop for £10 (~$16.87) with
this
and
this
.
Doesn't beat the Clear Game Boy Pocket I found at a boot fair one year for £1 (~$1.69) with Wave Race. Previous owner had entered the F word as a name.

Battery cover present! It also came with 2 almost-dead AA batteries and a very beat up copy of Dragonball Z: The Legacy of Goku. It works but it still needs to be disassembled to give the shell a bath.
Platinum GBAs are hard to find where I'm at! I'm still waiting to find a really nice looking one. Even harder to find here are clear Game Boy Pockets. A clear GBP is very high on my list of things to find relating to Game Boy. I know I can get one cheap if I'm patient but I'm still waiting. :p

A customer made this and brought it in the store for me today. I love it!

Picked this up before I disappeared into the wilds of Arizona for a week. It's like new and had all of the original packing inside. Go go backwards compatibility!

i thought it was an 80GB model that was backwards compatible, was both that and the 60GB backwards compatible or am i wrong about the 80?

20's and 60's were fully backwards compatible, but the 80 was only partially as far as I know.

The 60GB emulates via actual PS2 hardware (in theory, 100% compatible with all discs) whereas the 80GB removed that hardware to cut costs and instead did PS2 emulation via sotware (reducing compatibility to 95-99% of the PS1 and PS2 library, depending on who you ask). *ALL* PS3's will play a PS1 disc though.
Crabby, that drawing is great! Frame it!

I was just going to say my 80gb plays ps1 and doesn't play ps2. But my bros 500gb (originally 20gb) plays both.

There are 2 different 80GB PS3's, one which is backwards compatible with PS2 games (MGS4 bundle and earlier) and one which is not. Still, all PS3's play PS1.

Hot Wheels Turbo Racing!? That was my first game AFAIK.
Got it for Christmas one year. I love it, but the PAL version has a problem:
Quote from: My submission on the game entry
The track "Exhaust Pipes" is not playable, due to a bug.
Attempting to race on this track will result in the loading screen freezing with white letters and numbers filling the screen.
This bug also appears to be in the "EA Classics Value Series" version.
The car "Tow Jam" is meant to be awarded to the player upon winning the TwinMill Cup. However, for some reason, you never receive the car.

Speaking of...have you tried the newer Hot Wheels games? Beat That! wasn't terrrible, but it became fairly monotonous after a while. I've been meaning to pick up the French version of that on Xbox 360, if you ever come across it.

Was that directed at me?
I've got "Beat That!" (DS) and "Velocity X: Maximum Justice" (PS2) and I've played a bit of "World Race" on the PS2, but I don't find them as good as "Turbo Racing".
There's just something about the combination of the gameplay, those cars, those tracks and that music. I definitely would like a remake.
I still remember repeatedly trying to get a jump just right so I could grab a mystery car (Thunder Roller) on the Command Center track.
I've been attempting to acquire all the cars in real life, though some of them weren't released in the same designs...

I'm sure I could hook you up with someone to help if you want the actual cars. My former roommate's brother collects Hot Wheels and has 8000+ of them.

That might be nice. A seller on eBay has 7 minty ones I need, including the Toys'R'Us exclusive Sweet 16 II.
Only problem is, they're £1 each with £5.60 postage from America. He says he does combined shipping though...
It's mainly a matter of money. I haven't got a job (I have asperger's syndrome), and I only have pocket money from my Nan and Grandad (£2 a week), Christmas Money and money I get from my Dad and Grandma when me and my sister go there once a year (usually around £30-£50).

Great finds everyone, love the hoodie. I have been away in grad school land so haven't been posting. I got some finds recently so stay tuned for that. Games, Laserdiscs, and other great stuff coming soon.
