Hey now,
I parted with a chunk of my state tax-refund check when I picked this up at my favorite Goodwill earlier today:

What is it exactly, you ask? You'll have to tune in to my next Seven-Day Score Card blog to find out...

I have fond memories of those gray/black sticks and the impossibility of playing Smurfs with them on the 2600.

Let's see here... You have what looks like an Atari 2600, RAINBOW EDITION. Buried under 12 carts, with 3 controllers?

Not a bad deal, considering one sold for $5 recently:

So surprised that no one has recommended Silent Service for the Retro Playthrough yet. But with it's uber rarity and price point, I kind of understand.

For a game to be used for a playthrough it first has to be
playable

No one could handle the sound of sheer ecstasy that you would all be in during that playthrough podcast.

Well a trip to my $2 Goodwill landed an interesting find. A metal DDR Dance Pad. There was two of them, but a lady had her name on one since she had bought it, but hadn't left the store yet. I grabbed the other one because even though I am terrible at these games, I thought a metal dance pad was worth $2. When I got it home it works perfectly. There is zero markings on this thing as to a manufacturer or model number, but the internet seems to think it's a Mayflash TX4000.

Well, the real question here should be: why in the hell would you want to play
Smurfs
in the first place?

Jeebus... first you go ga-ga over all the joysticks I find, now you're breaking into my house while I'm away to get a sneak-peak at my latest finds. You really are a ninja, aren't you.

Nice. Quality metal pads are hard to come by. Take good care of the chord though, they're known to get damaged easily even on good pads.
