Save up for Bravely Default. It is incredibly worth it.
Yep, that's pretty much what I intend to do. No reason to just grab lesser games that I don't have time for anyway.

This week was one of the most amazing in my years as a collector. I bought a huge set of ultra rare Playstation press kits and promo items!

Hey everyone! Well my brother got a final bonus check from his last job and we were heading out of town to see my Uncle so we decided to hit a few stores in Sioux City, Iowa - Dewolf's, Game Lair, and Goodwill. I had a few bucks so I bought some Atari and Odyssey 2 games really cheap and a couple of handhelds. My brother on the other hand well I'm glad he's back into game collecting again as he always brings in the good luck.
First stop after the 2 hour drive was Dewolf's I found about them on a post from Facebook a few months back, my brother got me the Star Trek Konami Handheld there for Christmas.

Dishaster is tough to find, but it's a $20 game. Great finds there and several scarce games.

Yeah when it comes to Atari prices usually don't add up anymore for digitpress. Yeah I picked up any odd titles I could find. That was the first ZiMag game I have ever seen so I swiped it up. Odd thing is it was the second cheapest game out of the lot from Game Lair besides 3D-Tic-Tac Toe

I went to the 2014 Cowlitz Gamers for Kids show today....
....as I've written about it in the past....
http://www.rfgeneration.c...r-Kids-Show-2013-2509.php
....it didn't seem like I needed to do it again.
Feel free to thank me.
I accept checks and PayPal.
Just one picture to look at
1
:
I didn't go too crazy. This was less than $50 I think. Beefed up the SMS and INTV collection. Was pretty happy to get some controller overlays to games I already had but were without.
The Wife and I are fans of Blade Runner. Not "fanatical" fans (if that makes anymore sense than the term "mostly unique") but just regular ones. We've prided ourselves on having Blade Runner on every form of media we have a player for DVD, VHS, CED and book. That changed when we got our laser disc player last year. It is fixed now. The world is as it should be.
I got Kaboom because everyone keeps talking about it.
Rampage is a game that also keeps coming up. For about a year now I've been thinking, off and on, how much I liked that game as a kid and how I'd like to own it. Checking ebay when I got home, I think I over paid a little. It's in pretty good shape though...I paid $14, it sells for $9-15 on ebay. Oh well. It is something I actually want to play.
The Mega Drive game is NHK Taiga Drama: Taiheiki
http://www.rfgeneration.c...nfo.pl?ID=J-040-S-02520-A
I got it because it was $1 and looked funny, not being in English and all.
Smash TV is the real winner here. I have been looking for this for a long time. This must be the rarest common game on the NES. I have looked at dozens and dozens of booths and thousands and thousands of NES games at the last several shows I've been to without luck. Finally I have it. Now I can play Smash TV, at home, with two Advantages. Who needs a Robotron arcade?
1: Other than the first one of course

I think I watched a video for every game that you purchased. It's always a shock to see how colorful Master System games are compared to their NES counterparts (that most of us are more familiar with). Looks like a ton of fun and according to Classic Game Room it is excellent.
I don't think I knew that there was a Smash TV on the NES, but I am very happy to hear you can dual-Advantage the game to emulate the arcade controls.
Intellivision games are just great and not because of the awesome overlays (although that helps). Makes me want to hit my local game store and dig through their ITV stash.

Glad my brother's back into the game again...but we did a lot of running around for my vacation. But it was in all good fun...I paid for the gas and drove my car while he bought stuff and I grabbed a few cheap things along the way.

Picked up another Rock Band guitar for PS3, $5. I buy every one of these I see at Goodwill because I think they're going to be scarce a few years from now, despite how many millions are out there. Always nice to have spare parts/guitars too since I've already replaced the strummer in my RB2 guitar 3 times. If you play, look me up on the PSN in my signature. I'm always looking for more people to play with plus I prefer bass so guitar players like playing with me haha

So here's a bunch of stuff. Beware, here thar be PC games:

All of the PC games pictured we're $1.91. The NCAA 07 game for PS2 I already had but didn't notice until I got home. It was only $1, so it's not that big a problem. The Powerstone DVD was only 50 cents. Nothing too cool in this bunch, but I was pretty excited about Civ 3, Unreal 2004 and the Powerstone DVD.
This is a collection of stuff I picked up from random stores on Friday and Saturday:

Thirft stores:
Soul Caliber 3 (PS2) - $2
The Daring Games for Girls (DS) - $2
You Don't Know Jack! Movies (PC) - $1.50
Backyard Baseball 2001 (PC) - $1.50
Trump Castle 3 (PC) - $1.50
Wing Commander VHS - .25
Big Lots:
Resident Evil: Degeneration DVD - $3
Mortal Kombat Annihilation DVD - $2.10
Adventures of Tintin (Wii) - $1
Sing It HIgh School Musical 3 (360) - $1
Michael Jackson Experience (PS3) - $1.20
James Noir's Hollywood Crimes (3DS) - $1
Gamestop:
American Chopper 2 (PS2) - .90
Mark Davis Pro Bass Challenge (PS2) - .45
The Getaway (PS2) - .45
Tony Hawk Undergrouns 2 (PS2) - .67
Gears of War 2 Limited Edition - .90
All of Big Lots games are 90% off right now, so I picked up everything they had left which wasn't much. The nicest thing I grabbed was Gears of War 2. I gave the guy a case for the standard edition and he gave me the Limited Edition, minus the outer boxes. Not bad at all.
And I grabbed this from Gamestop today:

Two Worlds Collerctors Edition (360) - $2.69
Heavenly Guardian (Wii) - .90
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion (360) - $4.49
The Two Worlds is 100% complete. Very nice for under3 bucks. And that's it for today!

I don't know what got over me today, but after having a fairly successful trip to one of my usual stores (got a complete Rocket Knight Adventures with a rough label), I was not quite done. At store #2, I pulled the trigger on a game I've been staring down for the past month. And it's not like I got a steal. I just threw caution to the wind and acquired this pristine copy of Gun-Nac:
