It seems my blue 3DS XL is jealous of the Zelda Edition...

I love seeing everyone's goodies, and it looks like everyone had a great Christmas. Mine didn't turn out too shabby either.

First up, I got my copy of Chuck Yeager's Fighter Combat, a game that finally got released after many long years. Fairly amazing for the time, it has simple polygon graphics. Oh, and I suck at flying apparently.

Next, Crabby helped me out with a few goodies from his store. Really glad to finally get Gradius V to complete my series (at least all of the numbered console titles), a Canadian SMS release that we didn't get here, and a Kinect for my daughter's 360. Thanks Crabbo!!

And last, but not least, my Club Nintendo reward came in. I'm going to leave this guy sealed.

Finally got Cheetos from Zag!  Really cool of him to send me a stocking for my boy for next Christmas.  I'll have to think of something really nice to send him as a thank you.

These were my Christmas presents to myself from Gamefly. Hyperdimension even came with the bonus soundtrack. God bless Gamefly.

Hey guys.  Late to post as I have been sick the last two days with the flu.  Still have lingering effects but I figured I'd post my score.  Christmas was really good this year my brother got me a couple game related items and my parents got me Man of Steel Limited Edition Blu-Ray Combo release which is numbered to 50,000.

Then our very own Fokakis79 and I did a trade a while back and his package arrived the day I got sick. So here is the rundown:

From my brother for Christmas on Christmas Day:
*Star Trek 25th Anniversary Konami Handheld
*Capcom Character Encyclopedia

From Fokakis:
*WCW/NW Revenge Box & Manual
*WarioLand II - Box & Manual
*Batman Vengeance - Box & Manual
*Silent Service PC - CIB
*Tiger R-Zone with Mortal Kombat 3 Cart

I still need to snap a picture of my Secret Santa haul, but in the mean time, I got this yesterday. I don't usually haggle at game stores, and when I do the clerk doesn't usually lower the price after I make a fairly low offer. But hey, when in Rome...

I hate to break it to you, Nick, but it looks like someone sold you a knock-off Silent Service. That looks nothing like the Licensed NES version...

And now I am jealous of InvaderGII. Enjoy the crazy shooterness!

Definitely jealous of this score. I hope you did well in your negotiating.

Truth be told I did very little of the work. It went something like this:

Guy: "Everything's 10% off, so it'd be $180 if you want it."
Invader: "I'm just not sure I can do it today."
Guy: "If it'll help you out I could do 15%."
Invader: "I appreciate it, but I'm just not sure."
Guy: "Well, what would you pay for it?"
Invader: "Well, they go online for $140-150. I know you need to keep the lights on and all that, though. I'm just not sure."
Guy: "Okay, what about $120?"

I should probably go to this store more often.

Yeah, I would have jumped all over it at that price too. Nice work. Let me know if you ever come across another. Wink

Yesterday I picked up a complete copy of Uniracers with its poster for $9 from a retro game store. The cartridge was pristine, and everything else was in pretty good condition.

Hey now,

Got my Christmas package in from Zag a few days ago and it was really pretty special.

Like I stated in my note, sorry 'bout the stocking not being very Christmasy-colored. And I'm more than happy to send more oddball Sharks tchochkes your way, should I encounter any.

From my brother for Christmas on Christmas Day:
*Star Trek 25th Anniversary Konami Handheld

I picked up the Star Trek handheld years ago on closeout at Kay-Bee. I found it reasonably challenging at first, but I eventually memorized the pattern of attack, and was regularly able to beat it. Not sure where that thing went...

All right, let me whip out my latest batch of pick-ups:

- Wii U GamePad, $9.99 $7.00: I was worried that this might not work properly, as the left shoulder button and trigger were a bit sticky. But after opening it up, cleaning the cause of the stickiness (some kind of caramel sauce, judging from the smell), and syncing it to my machine, it works just fine and dandy. I guess I'm not completely all-thumbs when it comes to fixes after all.

- Loose Japanese NBA Jam Super Famicom cart, $2.99 $0.00 with gift card: The first Super Famicom game to grace my collection. Also the first Super Famicom game I've ever submitted to the RF Generation database.

- Super NES fighter-style turbo controller, $5.99 $0.00 with gift card: At first glance, I thought this was an ASCIIWare turbo controller for the Sega Genesis, what with its button layout much like that of the 6-button Genesis controller. While I've seen similar fighter-style SNES controllers, this is the first one I've encountered that completely eliminated the shoulder buttons. And where could you have found one of these back in the day, you ask? Well, here you go:

How you you rewind a controller, anyway?

- Classic Sonic the Hedgehog lunch bag, $3.79 $2.94: It's only a few days after Christmas, and I already have next year's present for a certain someone ready to go...

- CIB Tenchu: Return From Darkness and Rampage Total Destruction, $1.99 each

- Sealed Space Intruder handheld, bagged Micky-D's Skylanders Giants Drobot Happy Meal toy, and handheld Connect Four game, $1.50

Aaand the big non-vidya pick-up:

Yet another iteration of my fave board game that I grabbed for $2.99. This one posseses a Real-Time Strategy element, with such "sudden game-changing events" as unexpected storms and ammo shortages adding to the challenge. They even carried over the surveillance plane from the electronic Advanced Missions release. If there's any gripe I have with this new version, it's that the ship pieces are now all roughly the same size as one another. That just ain't right...

Whelp, that's about it for now. Tune in next time when I show off the latest additions to my Skylanders arsenal, and a non-vidya pickup that Nupoile will go ga-ga over. Oh the suspense!
