Hey everyone! Happy Holidays!!  Today I was getting cabin fever..its cold out and I hate sitting inside on a day off..SO I went to a local store and scored some Free Boxes and manuals.

What I got:
-Atari 2600 - Sears Tele-Games, Activision and standard Atari 2600 Releases
-Castleavania II Box & Manual Oval Label - I don't need it but it was free little water damage on the front upper section but in really decent shape overall.  SO this will be either A) Going to Engel, or B) Be up for sale.
-Intellivision Voice Module Box

Then eBay Package arrived with the use of some my brothers eBay GC - Videomation $13.00

OH and at Gamers I got - River Raid II Cat only for $0.95

and Gamer Kitty Calleigh Gets in the picture again -- she really loves video games (especially boxes)!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!!! Keep it real on Channel 3 and BE SAFE!!

Wish someone had any boxes around here, let alone free boxes. I have a TON of manuals and inserts for the 2600 that would love their boxes.

how did you manage free boxes? everyone around here knows roughly that games are valuable, so i can never snag the boxes unless i'm really lucky. a while back i tried asking if i could actually pay to get a manual out of an already CIB set, and they pretty much laughed and said no way

I know a few store managers at some local stores in town.  They know I am a huge collector and besides I spend a lot of money in their stores.  But I get along with all of them good and since today is Christmas Eve he said nick "merry Christmas! I know you have been looking for Atari 2600 Sears boxes so here you go and I threw in an nes box you already have. "

I got this as an early Christmas Gift. It was sealed, but I unsealed it so I could play it. It has what is quite frankly the biggest manual I've seen in recent memory. Smiley

It's been a very Sonic themed Christmas this year thanks to several awesome members here on RF Generation.

First up from Fleach  I was sent a very large yet flat package. I was wondering what the heck it was for over a week. I thought it may have been a poster or something. Turns out it was a Sonic & Knuckles store promo sign. At least I presume it is. Very awesome to have in my collection.

Next up from RetroRage I received Sonic the Hedgehog game for the Leapfrog Didj and volume 3 Sonic Super  Digest. As always I enjoy reading these comics. Still got to pick me up a Didj system as that was part of my 2013 collecting goals.

And finally from Zagnorch, the worlds most difficult to open gift was even more Sonic goodies! Many Archie Sonic comics, a Shadow plush and a few other goodies. There were six boxes all inside one another containing a few items each. All boxes were even gift wrapped, which made for a good laugh and one hell of a mess.

Thank you guys for the awesome gifts!  xmas

Got a package in a few days ago from a dude on NA.  These manuals and cart are to complete some of the partial boxes I bought from Crabby not too long ago.

I guess I mentioned Disney Infinity when I was at Disney with my mother and sister in law and they both got me Disney Infinity stuff.  My buddy Rodrigo got me Wreck it Ralph and I bought Jack Skellington cause I love him so now I have 5 DI figures and no game yet.  I'll wait til it comes to Xbox One. (Not sure why Sully came out yellow in the pic, the package looks the same as the others in real life)

GamerNick hit it out of the park with my SS package.  NHL 06 for GC, 2 CIB NES games including the version of Impossible Mission 2 with the NTSC box and Australian cart/manual and stacks of hockey cards.

I'm actually really excited about these cards.  Great job, Nick.  Thank you very much!

Here are some of the gaming gifts I got from my wife and parents for Christmas:

I got these games just before Christmas. Actually only paid $15 for the very nice and CIB copy of Dracula and got CIB Pitfall! and Donkey Kong for the INT for under $30 total (all 3 games). Paid $12 for WoZ; not a stellar deal, but not a very common title.

Decided to grab some PS3 stuff around town to go with my new PS3(I mainly concentrated on getting the exclusives that look interesting, I'm really happy about MGS4 because I've been wanting to play it for years). All are CIB, Heavy Rain was $10, Resident Evil 5 Gold was $7, MGS4 was $7, and Killzone 2 was $7) I just grabbed the PS1 games because they were at one of the pawnshops for $2.50 each.

I also couldn't resist these for $3 each because I remember getting some as a kid:

And this was from a friend that found out I got a PS3 for Christmas and couldn't bear to see someone with a PS3 and no GoW games.

Just a few Christmas gifts of note. I won't get into everything. We started this abomination collection that is Disney Infinity. Already up to 9 figures...

These are the three games my wife got me:

And this wonderful thing. It's a little old I think and probably from stock some years back but whatever. It's comfy and has storage under the seat for extra controllers and whatnot.

I had a fairly good Christmas and got some great stuff from my Secret Santa.

The Wind Waker HD was a present from my mom, my wife got me the rest of it.  I was amazed when she told me she only paid $2 for the GBA SP.

I got my Club Nintendo Majora's Mask CD in the mail today, so that that's awesome.  I'm listening to it right now Smiley

Here is what my Secret Santa sent me,  the box was just staring at me for days, waiting for Christmas day when it could be opened.

The close up on the note.  Trying to put it into a binary translator only gave me errors, so I will have to try and decipher it later.  I think it's clear though that my secret santa was in fact R.O.B. the Robot.

Season's Greetings from Terra,

It's been a very Sonic themed Christmas this year thanks to several awesome members here on RF Generation.

Thank you guys for the awesome gifts!  xmas

Please be a responsible citizen and recycle all those boxes and wrapping.

Meanwhile, I've discovered the following swag over the last week:

- CIB Sega PODS game, $6.99 $3.50: This is most likely the final touch on what's been a year of CIB Sega hardware finds. I initially passed on this when I saw it at the local Savers last month; I thought the asking price was a bit high. However, with each subsequent visit, I noticed it was still hanging around, waiting to be bought. So I waited until its tag color was on 50% off special, and that's when I grabbed it. Although the box is a bit beat up, the game unit itself is still wrapped in the original plastic bags.

- Nyko Maximizer joystick for PlayStation, $5.99 $4.80: Even though I already own a ton of joystick controllers for the PS1 & PS2, this one was too interesting to let get away. The button "wheel" on the upper right part of the controller can be rotated to provide the most desired button configuration for the player. It doesn't seem to be a particularly useful function, however.

- Sealed 3DS XL Nerf Armor cover case, Amazon gift credit: This pickup's no surprise to those who know me.

- Sealed Skylanders Giants Lightcore prism Break figure, $1.99 $1.60

- Koopa Troopa plush, $0.99: This came bagged with a couple mini Beanie Babies. The guy who rung me up told me that the Koopa Troopa was the only piece in the lot worth buying. I couldn't have agreed more...

- CIB PS2 games, $1.99 each:

  - Myst III: Exile
  - CyGirls
  - Luxor
  - Soul Reaver 2

- Nintendo Super NES Player's Guide, $0.99
- Piggyback Final Fantasy XIII guide, $1.99

Local store credit pickups:

- Loose Solar Jetman NES cart
- Loose Super Smash TV SGen cart
- CIB Joe Montana Football I & II for SGen
