I'm so jealous right now. I'm put on a buying ban from November 1st-December 25th every year otherwise my wife has nothing to get me for Christmas. It sucks but it makes Christmas like a bananza of missed goodies from the two months prior.

Btw 'Norch, Candy Cane Bumble Blast comes out on the 7th as a GameStop exclusive. Just thought I'd let you know...and anyone else keeping track of Skylanders stuff.

Speaking of Skylanders: Frito-Lay has yet another promo going where you have a crack at winning a glow-in-the-dark Rattle Shake. So I grabbed a couple packs of mini-bags...

- CIB Japanese E-Kara plug-and play main microphone and duet microphone, $3.49 each: from the people who gave us what would become the awesomest toys ever: the TransFormers!

- Grab bag with GBA, Super Mario World and Breath of Fire carts, a knockoff Famicom Tetris cart, and Sony mini-calculator, $14.99: At least, I think the Famicom cart has Tetris on it. I'm just guessing from the label art. Even more entertaining is the back label, featuring very "Engrish" safety warnings:

- CIB Spider-Man (Greatest Hits) for PS1, $1.99

In the non-gaming small score department: I picked up a sealed rerelease of the Polar Lights Bellringer (Hunchback) of Notre Dame model. Well, actually the seal isn't fully intact; there is a break in it. Otherwise, it looks pretty good...

I got Popeye for the NES today, Road Rash II a game which is a personal favorite and have been wanting to add it for awhile, Olympic Gold for Sega, G-Loc for Game Gear, and two atari games: Berserk and Star Strike

Okay, so I've been busy/distracted with new job, girl, outdoors.  I really should listen to the last few CollectorCasts.  Been out of touch.  But I have tried to at least follow the small scores.  Congratulations to the new or repeat fathers, at least.  That's awesome and breaking the mold of the stereotypical gamer is always enjoyable.  No, we don't all live in our parent's basement or find it difficult to go out in public.

One thrift store stop recently:

Not much, but PC Big Box games for less than $2 makes me quiver.

Searching for 7800 games on eBay led to this nice shipment from the same seller. All are sealed, except Galaxian.

I'll call it work-related, as we brainstormed a way to use a Kinect to control our conference room system, but I finally grabbed one and some games on CL/Gamestop.

And a guy posted an ad on CL, selling PSPs and DS Lites for $25 each.  He offered these three for $50 total, when I hooked him up with other interested customers.  The PSP is the 1000 and has already been cracked with custom firmware.

Yes Duke, I also aim for the 8-Bit XMas NES carts by RetroUSB.com.  As a handheld console nut, I've been watching the 3DS for a good while.  Finally an XL that looks great, is limited edition, and isn't a crappy Pokemon version.  The 2DS was a must because it comes in (a light) Crimson a.k.a. Cherry Red.  Matches my truck and snowmachine.  Turbo was a bargain bin grab for the lady's 4 year old, so no jokes.

And since folks have tossed comics into the scores thread, I must continue the conversation.  One of my favorite series' when I was in high school was Crying Freeman.  Japanese art, assassin that cries for his victims, elaborate stories.  I was hooked and decided to revisit.  Grabbed all issues from series' 1-3 for an awesome price.  Now just need 4 and 5.  I already have the animation DVDs.

I also found a copy of the live-action movie, which I plan to watch tomorrow night.  But it stars Mark Dacascos, who I was introduced to in a favorite movie of mine, Only the Strong.

I know I'm partially responsible for the pseudo-popularity of Silent Service on the site (and anywhere that is using us as reviewers), but I LOVED Double Dribble as a kid.  We must promote DD, people!

That lot is definitely solid for many hours of fun.  Burgertime and Gauntlet were fun ports from arcade.  Nice lot.
