Been a while, and I haven't picked up much lately. Of course, I haven't done much hunting. My current endeavor is working out and losing the gut. Last month I was 27 lbs over what I weighed when I got out of the Army. I'm now down 13 lbs after dieting and running like a chicken with its tail on fire. Half way there.
So here's the rundown of pick-ups:
Everything's from CDWorld except the NHL Slapshot.

The Gretzky NHL 2005 is SEALED!

NHL Slapshot is SEALED and, because of a SKU change, I got it for $5. Bought from Gamestop.

I have been wanting to grab a copy of Naughty Bear because its such an oddity. I grabbed One just so I can toss my loose copy in the FS/FT bin.

And to finish up the decoration of the newly renovated offices, a sweet retro movie poster.
To support the Nerd movie, I grabbed his movie poster (not pictured) and the ultimate pack from Screwattack.com:

Shit Pickle!
And I received a couple of packages from members.

Slackur made good on the lost Skittles. Since my diet was already underway, the guys at the office enjoyed them. Thanks for the package, but stop with the bible passages.
Atheist.
I surprised TheSaintOfPain with one of my big boxes and he surprised me with a return:

Wrapped like a trusted eBay seller.

And damn! He kicked my wishlist in the gonads. The 7800 was the first console that I personally purchased/owned as a kid, so that silver box brought a huge smile. Oh, and what is this "Ph"antasy Star game? They can't even spell. I wonder if it is any good...
Thanks for the gifts guys.
And finally, I'm redecorating one of the rooms in the house...

I would have gone Anaheim Ducks, but I can't even find a shower curtain. WTF!

It's been a while since I've picked up anything.

The USB Ultra Power Hub was $5 from Best Buy. Best Buy has a ton of clearance on accessories, so check your store to see what is still left. I saw a tag for a $5 PS3 Motion Controller, but they were all sold out.

49ers!
Well, anyway, picked up a few things this past week, mostly on this past Saturday from yard sales and thrift stores:

The PS2 Slim, and most of the PS2 games, came from the second yard sale I hit. The lady running the sale, after seeing me looking through the few older PC games they had out and picking up Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis, asked me if I wanted to see the Playstation and Playstation games she had. I immediately said yes, and soon had the PS2 Slim, with all cables and a controller, and 5 games. Just after that, the woman's husband came out of their house with a CD case and told me to just take it. It had a copy of Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm in it, and when I checked out the system in my truck, I found a copy of Hard Rock Casino in the tray.
Playstation 2 Slim
$25.00
NFL Blitz Pro, All-Star Baseball 2003, Ghost Recon, Ghost Recon 2, James Bond 007 In Agent Under Fighter
$2.00 Each
Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis
$.50
I did find only two more games at a later yard sale, which were the two Playstation Demo Discs from Pizza Hut. Both are unopened. After that, I found nothing game-related at the last couple of yard sales I went through, so I started hitting thrift stores, starting with Goodwill. There, I found just a couple of games.
Playstation Promo Demo Discs From Pizza Hut
$.50 Each
World Series Baseball
$4.00
Pooh's Party Game: In Search Of The Treasure
$2.00
After finding nothing at the next couple of thrifts I went to, I ended up at the Salvation Army Thrift Store a town over. There, I picked up an original Playstation, with all cables and two games with it: NFL GameDay '99 and The Legend Of Dragoon. There were also a bunch more PS1 and PS2 games, of which I bought all but one that another customer picked up before I did. Also found the Tiny Toon Adventures Tiger game buried in a bin full of toys.
Original Playstation, NFL GameDay '99 And Legend Of Dragoon
$10.00
SnoCross 2 (Sealed), Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Bob The Builder: Can We Fix It?, Rayman Brain Games, Rayman, And Scooby Doo And The Cyber Chase
$1.00
Each
Tiny Toon Adventures LCD Game By Tiger
$.25
Last stop of the day was to the local retro game store, intending to only pick up a DS game for my niece, whose 17th birthday was on the 15th. While I did end up getting her TMNT for DS, I also picked up the Hatris for myself, which is complete in rental case. The label is a cut up original box.
Hatris CIB In Rental Box
$7.99
Finally, courtesy of eBay, is the sealed X-Band adapter for Sega Genesis. Though I tend to not worry about finding stuff sealed since I mostly collect to play, this is one of those items that perfect to have sealed since you can't actually use it anymore.
Sega Genesis X-Band Adapter
$39.99

There's was some sales, so after using a gift-card I wound paying around $15 cash for all these at Gamestop(all are complete as well)
if anyone wants to squint at the receipt:

and paid $1 at a sale for these:

So on my way into work stopped at two goodwills. Snagged a N64 with three controllers and diddly king racing for $15
They put like 20 stickers all over it. Lol

Than at work we had these two boxes. I had the games home so picked these up for $13

We also started carrying hero clicks. Bought these for my little brother for Xmas. He loves batman.

Geez. Maybe you ought to put some of your money aside to buy some tender vittles for that emaciated looking cat. More proof that vandalizing wavebird controllers leads to animal cruelty. That's how Michael Vick got his start, you know.
On a more serious note: based on several past small scores I've seen, I'm guessing the overwhelming majority of RF Generation users are "cat" people. Just remember this: you might think you own them, but in reality it's the other way around.
ANYway, I got some light yard sale action in today, as well as a couple thrift and retail pickups:

Eight XBox games for $20:
-
Azura
- Syberia II
- GunMetal
- Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone
- Magic the Gathering: Battlegrounds
- Crimson Sea
- Spawn: Armageddon
- Otogi: Myth of Demons
Also got:
- CIB
Rayman Origins
for 3DS, $13.99
-
Skylanders Swap Force
Hoot Loop: took advantage of a $5-off-any-Skylanders-figure coupon from G*meSt*p.
Then there's this:

Let's try one of these on for size:

I even found some YouTube game play footage, featuring the player beating up a chick:
This wouldn't have happened If she'd stayed in the kitchen like I told her to.
Whelp, that's it for now.

I've been ridiculously busy the past couple weeks. I've been meaning to post these for a while, but this is the first chance I've had. You'd think it wouldn't be that hard but I always seem to find a way to do it. Anyways, on with the stuff
I picked these up about two weeks ago. Nothing special about them, but I took the picture so it's getting posted.

Then today I went out and picked up a few things from thrifts and a local game store.

The Age of Empires is pretty boss, because big boxes are superior to pretty much everything else on Earth. Just look at that big son of a bitch and tell me you don't want to hold it in your arms and cuddle it. I submit that you cannot. I also had Laser Invasion listed as semi difficult to find, so that's pretty nice too. It's not worth much, but neither is the majority of my collection. I'm pretty sure I can deal with it.
Next up, I got a message from Techie413 a couple of weeks ago. He noticed that I bought a bunch of big box PC games and a couple of them were just the box and manual. He said that he had a copy of Lighthouse that was just in the jewel case that I could have to complete my copy. I was pretty pumped about that and I tried to offer him some money to at least cover shipping, but being a true gentleman he refused. That would have been enough. He would have forever been in my good graces, but do you know what he did next? This:

I don't know if you noticed, but that's a lot more than one game in a jewel case. I mean, maaaaaan. Now I've got to go out and make "Loyal Order of the Techie" T-Shirts and start trying to convert people to my cause. But did you notice the best thing he sent? Sure the games are cool. The Pong Hot Wheels car is great. But the best? A Silent Service manual. I'm not going to say it's the greatest thing I own, but I am considering moving to a nicer house so the manual will reside in a home more in line with it's status. I've already named a Guardian of the Manual who will be ever vigilant and ensure it's glory will be recognized for all time.

He takes his job very seriously.
Oh yeah, and one other thing. I decided to go ahead and follow suit with a couple other members. I think 3 people makes it an official RF Gen fad.

That's cool and all, but is it really better then a Silent Service manual?

Everyone seems to be pulling in some really awesome things here lately. Maybe some of it will rub off at some point and end my dry streak. So many Silent Service manuals... I'm starting to suspect that these are forgeries. It isn't possible that such desirable items could be had so easily.

Congratulations! Probably a little better than the manual IMHO. There must be something in the RFG water...

So October has been pretty insane for my collection. Somehow with me pilfering these many goodies from the store I'm still making a profit.......... and loving it!!
Picked up all these box upgrades for my N64s. None of them have carts, just better boxes/manuals than my previous ones.

Really been wanting to try Ni No Kuni so I grabbed it with a nice Steelbook to go along with it. The Shining Wisdom and Dragon Force are both games that I didn't really want to purge from my collection into the store so when one of each got traded back in I was happy to take them back home.

New Atlus goodies for the collection

Some heavy hitters knocked off my NES list. SCAT, Mighty Final Fight, Sword Master and Bomberman II were birthday gifts for myself that I purchased online. The rest I scooped from the store.

Its been a while since I've picked up a new TG16 game so I was more than happy to pick up several at once

Now something I don't see often is Turbo CD games, so I had to take these home to try them out

Now you may be asking yourself "now Crabmaster, how the heck are you going to play those Turbo CD and Super CD games?"
Turns out that now I have choices

On a more serious note: based on several past small scores I've seen, I'm guessing the overwhelming majority of RF Generation users are "cat" people. Just remember this: you might think you own them, but in reality it's the other way around.
I have 5 dogs, 4 birds and 1 cat.
